Holy Spirit Part 10: Faithfulness “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” Galatians 5:22-25 NKJV Introduction As we are concluding this series we can all agree that we don’t produce this fruits by our own means  We even have sayings supporting what I am saying, let’s say this: “God is love” 1 John 4:16 God gives me joy - “The joy of the Lord” Nehemiah 8:10 The peace of the Lord… Philippians 4:7 “However, for this reason I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering, as a pattern to those who are going to believe on Him for everlasting life.”__ (I Timothy 1:16 ) (2 Peter 3:9) God is kind: Psalms 145:8, Romans 2:1-4 Goodness of God:Literally the whole Bible e.g. “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” (Psalms 34:8)  Gentleness of God: Father forgive them… Let Him without sin be the first one… Self control of God: Philippians 2:7-11 Now we will talk about Gods faithfulness  God is faithful to us when we are not  God doesn’t revenge our unfaithfulness with unfaithfulness but love John 3:16 God loved the world that was full of sin and was faithful to give us Jesus Christ His Son to die for us  Mostly people will wait for you to do well before giving you the gift They want you to qualify for good things Gods grace causes Him to be faithful to the unfaithful  To forgive the unfair and unforgivable  To love the unlovable Show mercy to the merciless soldiers at the cross “If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.” II Timothy 2:13 NKJV Think of Peter, you and me. How many times did we deny Him but He is still faithful  The book of Judges, Samuel and Kings is full of Israel’s unfaithful to God and Gods forgiveness and faithfulness towards His own people over and over again He was faithful to Adam and orchestrated redemption plan for him and his generations Project Adam was not squashed and thrown into the bin like we do:   To our children _ youth of today is doomed. By who?  To our colleagues at all level _ quick to write people off  Drug edicts  People in jail People in township _ abo-darky as we say People’s faithfulness is very brittle and fragile  Let’s have the same point of view as the God we serve when it comes to how we treat people Lamentations 3:22-23 NKJV Romans 3:3-4 NKJV II Thessalonians 3:3 NKJV God is faithful to His promises Joshua 1:5 NKJV God promised to never leave us or forsake us People will leave you when you need them the most Everyone has a busy schedule but God is always there available to help you Good and Faithful Stewards  Human  Always Mess Up Faithfulness Jesus made a lot of parables about a faithful steward This is the way our Lord wants us to conduct our daily lives Many marriages has been broken due to unfaithfulness Example of Faithfulness to the children  Faithfulness in the Local Church  Matthew 25:21 NKJV Matthew 24:46 NKJV Can you be trusted by people around you? Do you keep to your word? The people, angels and demons are so used to your word not coming to pass.  It becomes a lifestyle of untruthfulness. I prefer an incompetent faithful person than a unfaithful competent person The incompetent person can be up skilled and become a competent faithful at least Luke 16:10 NKJV Philippians 2:12-16 NKJV Closure: Jesus Faithfulness Philippians 1:6 NKJV Jesus is faithful to finish the work He started in us He will never leave us hanging with no hope and future God is the author and finisher of our faith. Hebrews 12:2 NKJV His track record is to stick by our side no mater what.  Let me tell you how faithful he is in the bible and our lives…  Amen
