Holy Spirit Part 2: Walk in the Spirit  “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.” Galatians 5:16-18 NKJV Introduction  Holy Spirit is awesome and great Those who are filled with the Holy Spirit live an amazing life  Walking with God advising you in all aspects of life  Genesis 5:23-24 Enock “Enoch lived 365 years, walking in close fellowship with God. Then one day he disappeared, because God took him.” Genesis 5:23-24 NLT Walking in close fellowship with God gets us raptured Enock was the first person to be taken to heaven, he saw no death  This is the guarantee that God will give a mortal person eternal life People are devastated and unsure about life after death but those who believe knows and have confidence  Enock live his whole life devoted to God, are we? Jesus gave us the whole Being of God to live within us  The challenge we have is that we love Him in church when we say amen  We live Him in our prayer closet and our spouses, children, friends, family and colleagues don’t get to experience Him Walk in the Spirit  Verse 16: encourages to walk in the Spirit  What does it mean to walk in the Spirit  I take Him every where I go I don’t get in and out of the Holy Spirit I am mindful of His presence in me I communicate with Him continuously (1 Thessalonians 5:17). This doesn’t mean that you must be weird, uncanny and bizarre by praying aloud all day every where. But being conscious of His presence  “for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’” Acts 17:28 NKJV You can’t behave anyhow when you are conscious of His presence  You can’t accept defeat if you are with Him You can’t be bullied by the devil when you have Him by your side You can’t be having Him whispering in your ears and be clueless  We must walk with Him all the way Don’t Quench The Spirit  “Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.” I Thessalonians 5:19-22 NKJV The reason why we experience defeat and find ourselves isolated and surrounded by the enemy is because we quench the Spirit We ignore His counsel  We think our ways are better when his counsel don’t make sense in our limited knowledge  We must keep the fire burning, go through the previous series The moment we are in and out of the Spirit, the enemy finds way in  “nor give place to the devil.” Ephesians 4:27 NKJV Conclusion: Set Free by the Spirit  “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1-2 NKJV There is no condemnation only to those who walk by the Spirit No one should live in condemnation when the grace of the Lord is accessible to all  We need to walk in the Spirit to escape condemnation  The Holy Spirit set us free from law of sin and death. (Read: Romans 8:5-9 NKJV) He injects life in our mortal body He is a life giving Spirit  “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” Romans 8:11 NKJV “And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.” I Corinthians 15:45 NKJV The problem of humanity is death and the Spirit gives life to our mortal body The grace of Jesus is the life giving Spirit of the Lord Be awaken and rise up in power in Jesus Name
