Holy Spirit Part 4: Let’s talk about love ❤️… “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” Galatians 5:22-25 NKJV Introduction Fruits and vegetables are the most important type of food in our diet They carry the vitamins and minerals that makes the body healthy and strong When we produce Fruits of the Spirit we heal the world 🌍 we are living in The world we live in is unhealthy and sick Some people may argue but even the so called first world countries are unhealthy and sick The fruit of love is needed far above all else 1 Corinthians 13:13 Regardless of all the things in the world: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 NKJV Christian faith is founded in love We can’t call ourselves believers in Christ without love Children of God should bring forth love, we are the tree 🌳 of love Let the world harvest love from us The kingdom of the devil is founded in hate, greed and fear All evil behaviour you can think of is fueled by hate and fear Let’s Talk About Love - World We can’t claim to love God and show no love to the world We can’t love Jesus and hate the people He died for The fruit of love is the one with all the spiritual vitamins We need the fruit of love to manifest in our community Let’s preach the gospel of love to the people Let’s do charitable work in our communities You can’t call yourself a child of God and don’t tip a waiter/waitress; car guards and people whose jobs are dependent on commission and tips We need to be moved with compassion when it comes to the world we are living in Jesus was criticised many times by Pharisees for loving the broken people Tax collectors, Samaritans, sinners and gentiles Love the Church We can’t claim to love Jesus and hate the church If you are a Christian and you hate the church you hate yourself in principle We are the body of Jesus “You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.” John 13:13-14 NKJV “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”” John 13:35 NKJV “with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love,” Ephesians 4:2 NKJV In our days there is a lot of hate in the church community People can’t wait for one minister to put a wrong foot on their walk with Christ The church pounces on every opportunity to spread rumours of fake news and smear campaigns “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.” John 15:12-14 NKJV The early church had disagreements of their own but they handled it with the guidance of the Holy Spirit Acts 15 conflict over circumcision Paul went to the Apostolic counsel of Jerusalem Disagreement between Paul and Barnabas over John Mark Colossians 4:10 NKJV 2 Timothy 4:11 The way we must settle our disputes is not in the social media A lot of believers like addressing doctrinal principles in a wrong way by criticism against their own God loves His children I John 3:1-3 NKJV Conclusion: Love your enemies Matthew 5:43-48 NKJV Your enemies are blessed to have you as their enemy This is the highest level of love you can give to someone Jesus loved the people who hurt Him Peter had to practice this in Acts 10, Cornelius was a Roman Centurion The church had to love Paul who persecuted them The Christians faith is founded on love Jesus love you, maybe that’s the best words you have heard this week Amen 🙏🏾
