Home birth at 42+3

Today on The Natural Birth Podcast we have Claire Claire is a mama of one from Australia. She’s a sustainability activist and passionate feminist, and the founder of the fashion advocate. In this episode she shares about falling pregnant at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 and how she knew she wanted a home birth with a known midwife. Her pregnancy proceeded well, but as she came up to 42 weeks the ultrasound showed low amniotic fluid under the normal range.  This lead to a few days of anxiety and a change from home birth to a hospital induction.  But when she came in for her induction it just didn’t sit right with her, so she asked for a second scan. And after having to fight for it, when she finally got it, the scan showed normal range fluids. She ended up going back home, against medical advice, and starting labour spontaneously the day after and had a quick straight forward home birth with her partner and midwife.
