People long for love and beauty to last, yet death keeps exposing how far this world is from home. Cain’s envy shows sin crouching within: he ignores God’s warning, kills Abel, and becomes a restless wanderer. No earthly pursuit can permanently cover the loss of God-given peace. Jesus reverses the downward spiral by giving Himself in obedience, reconciling people to God, and making them new creations.
