Homeland Security Weekly Update - Oct 3, 2026

from AlertsUSA Homeland Security Weekly Update Hosted by AlertsUSA, Inc.

In this week’s update, we look at two near-misses that officials have linked to Iran. The first is a disrupted plot to strike RAF Fairford, a US bomber base west of London. We then turn to Flydubai flight FZ1073, Dubai to Tel Aviv, where the Omani co-pilot attacked the captain with the cockpit crash axe and then plunged the jet about 14,000 feet before passengers and a deadheading crew took control and landed in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. The through-line: Tehran does not need a missile to reach Western or Israeli targets. An expanded written version of this report can be found in this week’s Threat Journal newsletter.
