Send us Fan MailIn this week’s show our guest is Sharon Harris, a native of Dallas, TX. Ms. Harris had a first hand experience with homelessness and shares insights from that situation. She is currently an entrepreneur who runs two companies “My Hebrew Roots” and the affiliate project “Trendy Designs.” We discuss how many Americans are a paycheck away from loosing their home environment and how the “Bootstraps Mentality” spoused by many Americans adds to the problem of homelessness.According to an article on Houston Press there is a plan to make tent cities illegal in Houston. “Up for debate at City Council next week, the “anti-encampment ordinance” would criminalize the “unpermitted use of fabric, metal, cardboard, or other materials as a tent or other temporary structure for human habitation,” the use of any heating device, and the “accumulation of personal property that would not fit in a container three feet high, three feet wide, and three feet deep.” Put simply, it would criminalize being homeless on the streets without a permit, punishable with a fine of up to $500 — and possibly resulting in warrants being issued for homeless people’s arrests for failure to pay those fines or appear in court.” (The City’s Questionable Ordinance That Criminalizes Sleeping in Tents and Boxes, Meagan Flynn, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 5, 2017)Support the showMystic-Skeptic Radio produces programs such as Uncensored & Raiders of the Unknown.
