Homily on End Times and Battles Within Our Souls – 11.14.21

In this homily, Fr. Mattingly talks about apocalyptic literature and what we know about the end of time. He discusses four themes of apocalyptic literature: that there will be a battle between good and evil, the Lord wins the victory, He will pass judgment, and there will be an establishment of a new kingdom. These themes must also be played out in our individual souls, and Fr. Mattingly talks about temptation and how we can live in peace by fighting temptations in our lives every day. Father Andrew Mattingly is a priest for the Diocese of Kansas City – St. Joseph. He is currently the associate pastor at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, as well as the diocesan director for young adults and campus ministry.
