Honesdale Borough Council Meeting - 1/31/22

Honesdale Borough Council Regular Meeting: January 31, 2022 Council President James Hamill called the regular meeting of Honesdale Borough Council to order at 6 PM. The meeting was conducted as an in-person meeting with a virtual option. The meeting was held on the second floor of Borough Hall, 958 Main Street, Honesdale. Councilors attending in person were President Hamill, David Nilsen, James Jennings, Michael Augello, Jared Newbon, Jason Newbon and William McAllister. Other Borough officials attending included Mayor Derek Williams, Solicitor Richard Henry, Borough Secretary Judith Poltanis and Director of Public Works Dan Brown. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. There was a moment of silence conducted for former Mayor Albert Rutherford who had died. In addition, the following Borough officials offered memories and remembrances of Mayor Rutherford: James Hamill, Solicitor Richard Henry, William McAllister, Secretary Poltanis, James Jennings, and Mayor Derek Williams. It was announced that black bunting is hung from Borough Hall to honor Mayor Rutherford.
