Honor wives as, firstly, the weaker vessel and, secondly, as heirs together of the grace of life. 1) 1 Corinthians 12:18-14:3. Wives have a biblical role in their husbands' lives for it is not good for man to be alone. Husbands need her to do things that he can't do, not things he can do. She was created as a help meet. She was not created because of sins weaknesses, but was created in a sinless garden. Objectifying her is not honoring her. There are many passages telling husbands to love their wives, not telling wives to love their husbands. Chronicles warns men to protect their wives and children by defending your land. Humans protect their weaker body parts such as organs. If you mistreat your intestines, the one who suffers is you. So why would a husband mistreat his wife who is his other half. 2) Believing husbands and wives are heirs together of the grace of live both physically and spiritually. Isaac pled to God for Rebecca to have a child and God listened to him. Birthing children is a grace of life to create life that we don't deserve. The wives' spiritual inheritance in heaven is equal to the husbands'. Husbands with the role as spiritual head should not disrespect her as a fellow believer. He should be warned that she has a spiritual capacity equal to his and is an equal child of God.
