Honor Through Action on 911 | Durham News

On September 11, 2026, Raleigh will host the nation’s largest day of service ever — “Honor Through Action” — uniting over 1,000 volunteers to pack 226,000 meals for local food banks. Part of a nationwide effort led by 9/11 Day, the campaign aims to mobilize 50,000 volunteers across the country to pack 20 million meals, turning remembrance into real impact. From schools to pro sports teams and corporations, communities are rallying around service as a tribute to resilience. The event kicks off at NCSU’s Wellness and Recreation Center from 9 AM to 11 AM — a powerful reminder that honoring the past means acting boldly for those in need today.
