Honoring Aaron Bushnell | Contextualizing Z*onism

Send us Fan MailLove doves and peace panthers, This episode was initially inspired by my friend and brother Brandon, a Palestinian-American who was featured on a recent BNP forum discussion re: Palestine. He offered me some clarifying words illuminating the greater context of Z*onism, particularly in this moment of history, and he gave me permission to share with you all. While I was working on this ep, the news broke of Aaron Bushnell, a 25 year old active service member of the U.S. Air Force, who made the ultimate sacrifice and self-immolated his own body as an act of courage and defiance against the ongoing gen*cide in G*za.  Bushnell's visceral and painful sacrifice, his singular and ultimate act of protest, was a wake-up call for me, and I feel it may be a wake-up call to so many of us around the world who have been battling against the despair and hopelessness of institutional mass slaughter and injustice. The gears of imperialism may be mighty, but they can be ground to a halt. Aaron Bushnell made sure none of us would ever forget that critical fact, and he is forever immortalized in the hearts of freedom fighters worldwide.
