Hooked Fly Company Angler, Author, & Artist–Brian Hester

Segment 3, February 24th, 2024 Brian Hester, artist & founder of the Hooked Fly Co. joined Carolina Outdoor host, Bill Bartee, to talk about growing up in the mountains of North Carolina.  It was near Boone, that he “stole” his father’s fly rod & reel (Brian said he just “borrowed it, indefinitely).  He’s a thirty-year educator in public schools but he’s also a sculpture, painter, & author. THINGS WE LEARN: Hester has done product design with MothBear Recently he’s begun the Brian Hester Collection with Jam Up Apparel He has an upcoming book that he’s garnering interest for publishing called She Talks To Fish. The new book was inspired through his teaching & mentoring of a local angling club at Myer’s Park High School in Charlotte. His philanthropy includes donating his talent to the F3T 2024 at the Visulite Theatre Hester will paint a large scale canvas, Live in front of an audience to raise money for Rocky River Trout Unlimited RRTU Tickets are available to see the Event, Hear live music, & the Fly Fishing Film Tour 2024 on March 21st, 2024.
