Hoop Talk Ep. 78: NBA Draft Needs: Minnesota Timberwolves

The Basketball Podcast BY FANS, FOR FANS!With the NBA Draft just over a month away, the 2020 NBA Lottery has been set and the draft order is officially locked in. With that, each team prepares for October as some of the best college and overseas prospects all await that fateful day in hopes of hearing their name called by Commissioner Adam Silver. In this edition of the Hoop Talk Podcast, the guys take a look at the Minnesota Timberwolves who among the top-3 teams in this year’s draft with a chance at either Anthony Edwards, Lamelo Ball or James Wiseman. Led by the young star duo of Karl Anthony-Towns and D'Angelo Russell, this team will be competing in a tough Western Conference that is only getting tougher, but this will hopefully be the first full season of seeing these two ascending players on the court together since Russell was acquired from the Golden State Warriors late last season. With the No. 1 overall pick in this draft, the T-Wolves have a chance to add yet another talented young building block to this squad to help get this team heading back in the right direction. Minnesota also has the 17th and 33rd overall picks in this year's draft which gives them a lot of room to fill the void at certain positional needs and build up their bench. Nonetheless, the goal for Minnesota on draft night is simple: Acquire players that fit the roster/scheme! They need plug and play guys to surround and complement their star-studded duo if they want any chance of being one of the eight teams in the West to go to the playoffs next season.
