Ho’Oponopono: Prayers to End Hatred & Violence in Our World

Two mass shootings in the US since our last weekly Prayer & Healing Circle – in less than one week! 23 killed, 42 wounded, and countless injured by trauma that will impact their lives forever. The news anchors are asking, “Is this the new normal?” I refuse to accept that! My mind has locked up – it cannot compute such a thing. However, my heart breaks for the victims and their families, and for the sickness that plagues our world. I imagine yours does too. The sickness behind these mass shootings seems so deeply ingrained in our fabric, as many contributing factors collide to create a disastrous storm. It’s multidimensional, not a simple fix. I know we need more than prayer, yet the prayer is still important – and right now that’s something we can all do. We can pray for healing for the victims and the perpetrators – for anyone who may be struggling with the evil forces that guide them into this storm – anyone considering taking the lives of others or on a course that could lead them there.
