De'Ron Davis is a survivor. He grew up in the crosshairs of the Bloods & the Crips, raised by a strict father who knew his son was destined for greater things. De'Ron became the #1 rated player in the country, only for his father to pass away. His ranking fell, but he took his high school team to back-to-back state titles and punched his ticket for Bloomington. The hardships were far from over, however, as De'Ron battled devastating injuries, frustrating seasons, the firing of Coach Crean and even the brutal end of his IU career by the Covid-19 pandemic.
