Hoosiers Return to Hinkle for Rivalry Showdown | Big East Basketball News

Indiana’s Hoosiers are making a triumphant return to Hinkle Fieldhouse for the first time in over 30 years, facing off against Butler in an exhibition on October 11th — a matchup that resurrects a historic rivalry and brings back memories of a 1993 loss. The game shift also moves Indiana State’s exhibition to October 18th, creating space for this highly anticipated showdown. Former Butler player and current Indiana State coach Matthew Graves, who scored his first college points in that 1993 game, will now coach against his alma mater — adding emotional weight to the event. This marks the first of a home-and-home series between IU and Butler, with the next game set for Bloomington in 2027-28. With deep-rooted rivalries spanning decades — IU leads Butler in all-time matchups, and the two schools have faced off 76 times — this October promises a thrilling return to Hinkle’s hardwood.
