Hope and the Judgment of God

In this week's sermon from 2 Thessalonians 1:5–12, Pastor LJ preached that the ongoing faith and steadfastness of persecuted believers is not evidence of God's abandonment but evidence of His righteous judgment, a judgment that will bring eternal condemnation to those who reject the gospel and eternal glory and rest to those who believe. Pastor LJ cautioned against seeking suffering for its own sake and calling the church to respond to affliction not with bitterness but with sympathy, boldness in proclaiming the gospel, and steadfast faithfulness in the present as preparation for whatever suffering may come.
