Hope for Prisoners Under Fire | Las Vegas News

When Jon Ponder, head of Hope for Prisoners, was arrested on serious charges involving abuse of female inmates, it sent shockwaves through the reentry community — especially for Denfield Wright, who credits the program with giving him his first real shot at life after prison. Wright, now thriving with a steady job and side hustle, embodies the program’s mission — but the arrest has left others worried about its future. Despite the turmoil, Hope for Prisoners vows to keep operating, determined to help others find their “first breath of air” after being underwater. For those still fighting, the message is clear: keep going — that one “yes” after a thousand “no’s” can change everything.
