Hope For The Messy Church

Join us this week as Tyler discusses how the kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed planted in a field that becomes the largest of garden plants where birds nest in its branches, and like a little yeast that permeates three measures of flour to feed many. He contrasts this with the towering tree in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream from Daniel that was cut down because the king failed to give credit to God. Despite the early disciples’ flaws, quarrels, and the church’s ongoing struggles with disunity, shallow faith, and hypocrisy, God still grows His kingdom through wildly unqualified people, just as He did from Pentecost onward when thousands were added. Divine growth starts small and takes time, providing shelter and sustenance. We join in by recognizing our need for Jesus, sacrificing comfort for the kingdom, and trusting that only He changes hearts through small seeds of kindness, forgiveness, and shared meals.
