Hope in a Broken World | Spokane News

In a rare twist on the post-apocalyptic genre, Ridley Scott’s “The Dog Stars” offers a glimmer of hope amid devastation. Jacob Elordi stars as Hig, a weary pilot surviving with his dog and a former Marine buddy, until a crash lands him near a farm run by a kind older man and his medically trained daughter — and introduces him to Mennonite kids who embody resilience. While the film simplifies Hig’s introspective novel roots and swaps in a wild Allison Janney scene, Scott preserves the core message: even in ruins, humanity clings to endurance. It’s not revolutionary, but it’s quietly uplifting — a reminder that hope, however fragile, still matters. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
