Hope Restored

from Victory Church Jbay · host Louis Els Jr

After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, "What are you doing here, Elijah?"1 Kings 19: 12-13This week we will be looking at the word that Pastor Louis Els Jr shared on Sunday entitled ‘Hope Restored’.Firstly, it is important to understand that all of us will have our hope challenged. Even after defeating the prophets of Baal, Elijah still faced fear and lost hope. We all have our moments ‘under the tree’, but that is not the end.Secondly, we need to remember that God has not abandoned us. He is faithful and will never leave us. He will walk us through our challenging circumstances and situations. He will make a way for us to get out of our place of exhaustion, depression and hopelessness. Finally, we need to make sure that we follow God when He leads us into our ‘cave’ and listen for His still, small voice. It is in the stillness and intimacy of relationship with God that we find our breakthrough. How have you seen God move in the past? What challenging circumstances are you facing at the moment?Where do you think your cave is? Where is God calling you to meet with you?
