The Apostle Paul, writing to Titus amid the moral decay of Crete, connects doctrine with duty and theology with transformation. Having declared that grace saves and schools the believer (vv. 11–12), he now points forward to the hope that sustains him. The Christian life, balanced between grace and glory, stands anchored in the first coming of Christ for redemption and the second coming of Christ for reward.
