Most of the traditions often associated with Christmas from the trees, to gift-giving to mistletoe, to the date - have been ripped off from other cultures & traditions... some pre-dating the manger, shepherds & the midnight clear. In this sermon we'll look at the absurdity of putting Christ back into Christmas - since Christians are the ones that wedged him into a few pre-existing traditions in the first place. But well delve into the wonder of Grace & Truth come down in flesh and why celebrating Jesus - the hope of glory who inserted Himself into the dust of humanity - is indeed a cause worthy of Hp, Joy, & Peace. We'll explore how we too easily settle for cheap counterfeits to the true & wondrous HOPE of Christmas. May the reality of Jesus: his birth- life- message - mission - death - resurrection - glory be the centre of all we do over the holy-days. Merry Christmas, one and all.
