SBS Hebrew speaks to Michael Gawenda, an award-winning journalist, editor, and writer with a remarkable migration story from the perspective of a Jewish Australian.Michael was born to Polish Jewish parents in a refugee camp in Austria shortly after the Second World War. He migrated to Australia as a very young child and grew up in Melbourne.He celebrates over 30 years at the Age as a journalist and later its editor in chief. He is a well-respected commentator for his writing on Journalism and Politics, he won multiple awards including three Walkley Awards.
