It comes as the Government's announced its intention to establish the Flood Insurance Protection Gap Working Group. Chaired by former Secretary General of the Department of Health, Jim Breslin, the group aims to improve access to insurance for households and businesses at risk of flooding. Shannon Fine Gael Councillor, Tony Mulcahy, says there's currently vast quantities of land not being developed as properties won't be insured.
