Horror Stories to Fall Asleep To | Three Long Tales from the Ozarks

from DarkHorrorNarrations · host DarkHorrorNarrations

Three first-person stories from the back roads of the rural South.A boy growing up in the Missouri Ozarks sees the old neighbor across the holler standing on his porch at night. The neighbor has been dead for almost a month, and what is wearing his shape is not him.A county roads worker in western Arkansas finds his coworker's spiral notebook in the bottom of a tool box at the back of his locker. The notebook contains names, license plates, and a pattern that explains why the coworker was found drowned at a fishing access with the keys still in his truck.Four high school friends descend into a cave system that has a chamber the original surveyors tried to seal off in the eighteen-eighties. One of the four has been hearing the place call to him since he was thirteen years old. The place, in his words, does not let you leave with the same number you came in with.Long-form atmospheric horror narration recorded for sleep. Slow pacing. Cold opens. No music stings. No jump cuts. Just the stories.
