Horseshoe Hangover: Quarterback yet to be named, but we do know who the captains will be
from Land-Grant Podcast Network: An Ohio State University podcast · host FFSN
On Land Grant Holy Land's "Horseshoe Hangover," we help people work through any lingering feelings they have from the weekend, especially from the Buckeyes football game on Saturdays. We are here for you, especially early on Monday mornings when the weekend is over and the work week begins. It's the pilot episode of Land Grant Holy Land's new podcast "Horseshoe Hangover!" Alex Frank is joined by his cousin and Ohio State graduate, Ryan Weckstein, to help you get through any lingering feelings from the weekend, especially on Monday mornings during football season. Today, they discuss potential concerns about the Buckeyes not naming a starting quarterback ahead of their season opener in 12 days against No. 1 Texas. But as Ryan points out, the competition being so close between Julian Sayin and Lincoln Kienholz may be a good thing. Despite that fact, the Buckeyes did announce their four captains for the 2025 season. Were there any surprise decisions in who is a captain? And were there any surprising players not named captains? Additionally, the guys discuss Ohio State being slotted in at No. 3 in the AP Preseason Top 25. That has caused some confusion amongst Buckeyes fans, but Alex and Ryan explain why there really isn't any need for anger over the rankings. Then, in their "Buckeyes in the NFL" segment, Alex and Ryan talk about Sam Hubbard playing his entire high school, college, and NFL careers in the state of Ohio.
