Hosanna! Blessed Is He Who Comes In The Name Of The Lord! The King Of Israel! | 04.19.25

1 John 2:2 says that Jesus paid for the sins of the WHOLE WORLD! And so when we talk again tomorrow on Easter Sunday, we will look at the magnificent sacrifice of love that the LAMB of GOD SUFFERED for us, though HE was righteous, and WE are GUILTY.   And so today we’ll look at the significance of events surrounding Jesus’s Triumphal Entry, though we know it was short lived, as the envious and powerful religious leaders would force Jesus’s execution, and use their authority to SILENCE those who RECEIVED HIM as Messiah.   But of course, these things were not only NECESSARY, but in order to fulfill prophecy. And so will begin with Jesus, coming to Bethany after Lazarus, the brother of the beloved Mary and Martha, had died. And Jesus not only comes to raise him from the dead, but to set Israel ablaze ahead of the Passover Feast. So let’s pick up in John’s Gospel and look at the details beginning at where Jesus Raises Lazarus in Jhn 11:38.   So we see that there is a direct reaction from the Pharisees to protect their power as a result of Jesus performing such a public and notable miracle near Jerusalem, and they began using their authority to pressure people to not associate with him, and to even betray Him. The account goes on in JOHN 12:   Interestingly, this is the moment for Judas, when he decides to betray Jesus. We learn this from the account in Matt, which records this anointing also, and then the following verses read: Mat 26:14 .   The next verses continuing in John 12 explain why everyone was so excited to see Jesus, after raising Lazarus from the dead set Israel ablaze. By the time Jesus Returns to Jerusalem for PASSOVER, they are ready to greet Him with Rejoicing.   Now the account reveals that Jesus enters Jerusalem FIVE days before the Passover, which is significant in fulfilling PROPHECY.   I actually have produced a video that goes through the Biblical accounts to VERIFY that Jesus was killed ON PASSOVER, which was BEFORE SUNDOWN on FRIDAY.
