Hosea Wk. 11

In Hosea 11, we see the heart of the Father on full display. For ten chapters, Israel has run in idolatry, rebellion, shallow repentance, and self-reliance. But here, God speaks like a Father remembering the child He taught to walk, fed, healed, carried, and loved.Though Israel’s heart was bent on turning away, God’s compassion remained. His discipline was real, but His mercy would not allow judgment to have the final word. Hosea 11 reminds us that God loves His people, grieves their rebellion, disciplines what destroys them, and calls them home in mercy.Ultimately, Israel’s story points us to the better Son—Jesus—who obeyed where Israel failed, died for sinners, rose in victory, and makes the way home for wandering sons and daughters.
