1 Peter 4:9. Are you bound to earth or bound for heaven? We cannot harbor sin in our hearts or bitterness toward one another since we need each other in the end times. I will seek their welfare even above our own by calling them out of their sin. Pastor Kirk has been covering the four things Peter lists in order to stand/endure in the end times: 1) Watchful Prayer 2) Fervernt Love 3) Hospitable without grumbling. Hospitable is two Greek words for "love guests/strangers". "Hospitality" could be the love of having guests or the love of the guest. Pastor looks at the examples of Zacchaeus and the Good Samaritan. Luke 19:1-10. Zacchaeus was willing to host. Jesus invited himself. Zaccaeus didn't know Jesus, but curiously wanted to see Him. A stranger just called Zacchaeus by name. Rather than you inviting them, an imposed guest is a blessing. This does not just mean entertaining guests, but to invite and love the guest who had great need that they cannot repay. Luke 10:25-37. The Good Samaritan gave his time, his transportation, his ability to tend wounds, his costly oil and wine, his lodging, 2 denarii (2 days wages), and any cost upon his return. "Hospital" derives from the word hospitable as the love of guests or the love of strangers. Hospitals are meant to bring in strangers with great needs and they are to care for their injuries and love the stangers. Is your home ready to be a hospital? Is it stocked as a hospital with phyical resources and spiritual hope, truth, love, and peace? Our world has become a place of isolation and it is killing people. You will need to provide relationally for people. You should be ready to stand by yourself, but you shouldn't have to stand by yourself. Where can they find hope? Where can they find deliverance? As believers, we should be wide open to receive them. How can I care for you? Genesis 19. Lot recognized how to love your guests and that he would not let them be in harms way. Lot protected the two angels in Sodom at his great cost including placing his entire family on the line. The world has gone mad and I will share that burden and help carry that load. Our homes need to be hospitals for God ready to meet people's needs.
