Hot Potato

HOT POTATO I am a potato. A hot potato. I hide away from the hate tomato. I am chunky. I have knobbly eyes. You may think I am awkward, But by golly I make good fries. I have my little garden, Buried deep within the ground. Today it is baking hot outside. So, I am trying not to be found. Cook me in your oven, Roast me crisp, until I am done. Add a splash of salt and pepper, Go on, have your fun! Toss my carcass on the compost, My outer skin will gently wilt, I lived my life as I set out, But you must live, with all your guilt.
