Transcript Speaker 1: As you mentioned there, Cole, Boston College coming off a two-win season, but Bill O'Brien, he know- he knows football. He's been around football for an awfully long time. Uh, he he's been at a couple big-time stops. He was with the Houston Texans where he went 54 and 56. He's with Boston College right now, Cole, where it's not going all that well, 9 and 17 in his, uh, tenure there at BC. But hey, when he was at Penn State, he really helped solidify things for them, and they needed that at the time. The question is, can he be that same solidifying force for the Boston College Eagles this season? And if not, man, uh, some hard decisions might be being made up there in the Boston area. But let's talk to another one of his players here, linebacker Anthony Pollano. We had a chance to catch up with him earlier. Speaker 2: Anthony Pollano, Boston College. He's a redshirt sophomore. No, I'm sorry, he was- Is that right, Anthony? Redshirt sophomore? Anthony Pollano: Upcoming year. Speaker 2: Upcoming year, redshirt sophomore. So, you've still got a few years left, potentially. Talking to Anthony Pollano, linebacker, Boston College. We were just talking to K.P. Price a few minutes ago. Uh, talk about ACC Kickoff. I mean, you guys, little chip on your shoulder here, picked last by a lot of people. Does that motivate you guys coming to something like this? Anthony Pollano: I feel like it's something that you definitely have to listen to a little bit, um. Obviously, you know, I think the media is going to say whatever they want to say, but um, I really believe in what we got going on, and I'm excited to just continue to work day by day and um, put in the- put in the work so we can put it on in the- when the season comes. Speaker 1: Anthony, you're a transfer coming in from Washington State. Tell us about what uh, what attracted you to Coach O'Brien and his message, because he's a- he's a hard-nosed guy. Anthony Pollano: Oh yeah, no doubt. Um, I would say, you know, as soon as the portal opened, everyone at BC, all the coaching staff, and um, they were super- super like, uh, respectful. Like they, right out of- right as soon as the portal opened, like they all reached out. They were like respectful of what I had going on, because obviously, my whole coaching staff had went to Iowa State previously, so they're like, "Okay, I don't know if you're doing that." But um, they were always there by my side. Coach O'Brien was great. Coach Roof wasn't named at the time, but since my conversations with him when he got named were great, um, and Coach Jan. Like whenever I came on my visit here, it really felt like a home. So um, I was super blessedly opportunity that Coach- Coach O'Brien reached out to me, and I was happy to be able to take it. Speaker 2: Anthony, you guys had 40-plus transfer portal guys come in this offseason at Boston College with Bill O'Brien. Talk about the process of you guys like meshing, figuring each other out. That's a lot of newness, right? And- and by August, by September, you have to be a team. How does that happen? Anthony Pollano: You know, this is actually my second time going through it, and um, I can say the universal thing, especially for here, um, is when you have the same common goal as everybody around you, you guys mesh a lot quicker. Um, and when you got here, obviously, we don't talk about the past, but they had the season that they had last year. Um, but they want- they have- they want something, they want to prove something. They got something to prove. And um, I'm really excited to come be a part of it. Um, and they, whenever we all came in here, as you said there's 40 of us, um, they all- the people who were here welcomed us with open arms. So, I'm truly blessed that they actually, you know, welcomed us with open arms, because if they don't, it's hard to do that. Speaker 2: Sure. Anthony Pollano: Um, so I mean, I was very fortunate.
