This is an iHeartPuckist. Guaranteed human. Oh, what is going on? Welcome in. I'm probably no in for Big Ben Mallor.
Here on Fox Sports Radio. By the way, shout out. Late night drug tester. The Who Am I Game You Guest? You are flea.
Who is 64 today? How about that? Basis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Flee, 64 years old. Carries it well.
I wouldn't have guessed that. Back to the future star flea. Is that right? Yeah. I don't think I've seen the whole movie.
I know you'd be very disappointed about that. You haven't seen all of Back to the Future. I cannot. And you give us a hard time about movies. Come on.
I think Back to the Future is miles ahead of the departed. Yes, absolutely. I doubt it. I doubt it. I'd have to see by any measurable stat you can think of.
Like entertainment value. That's pretty high on the list right there. I don't care. Listen, Back to the Future is going to be miles ahead in terms of popularity. It's going to be one mainstream movie.
Yeah, sure. But better. I'm not talking about what's the better movie. Why would we not? Because this conversation started with me being surprised that you haven't seen all of Back to the Future versus me only have seen having seen the departed three times.
Three times. Wow. It's more shocking that you haven't seen Back to the Future. I've seen Back to the Future like 20 times at least. I mean, you got a fair point there.
But if we move the conversation to which movie is better. Yeah, I think it's the departed. Yeah, for sure. Yeah, I think it's the departed right there. Yeah, no doubt.

Put that one off to the side right there. Beautiful stuff. Okay, let me go back and I'll get to the militia here momentarily. 87799 on Fox. Tell them excited.
I can barely talk this evening. But I want to go back because we had a call about over time, coin toss, who gets the ball, all that type of stuff. And look, it's the right strategy for the Broncos to kick off because their defense was playing great. Sam Darnold was a turnover machine, very skittish, very skittish on Thursday night. And so in the Broncos offense, it played terribly awful, right?
Bo Nix with only barely over 100 yards passing. They're not moving the ball. Let me look at the stats in terms of team yardage. It's not going to be anything that jumps off. They didn't even have 200 yards of total offense.
The Broncos. I heard it sat that the Broncos on Thursday night football, they averaged 2.9 yards per play. That's what they did. That's brutal. So of course the right decision was to kick off and the Broncos relied on their defense and they got to take away.
They forced a turnover, got a Sam Darnold interception and then they only needed a field goal to win it. So that was absolutely for many reasons, the right strategy. The question was, well, hey, what if Seattle scored a touchdown? I mean, listen, if Seattle scores a touchdown, it's game set match. It's over.
You can't trust Denver and Bo Nix to score a touchdown to either equalize it or most likely they would have gone for two to try to win the game. It's probably what would have happened. You can't count on that happening, but the chances of Seattle just driving right down and scoring another touchdown. They had scored their touchdown in the fourth quarter to all of a sudden catch fire again and score another touchdown. I doubt it.
I would bet very heavily against that happening. And that's what the Broncos did. The Broncos had not just under 200 yards. They had 168 yards of total offense. And I know you can say you're going to be like, but they won, but that's the ultimate trump card right there, but they won.
No doubt. That's right. That's got to get worlds better for them to do anything of note this season. That's that's beyond brutal right there. But that's the thing is this doesn't just apply to Thursday night football.
This applies to the NFL as a whole, the strategy of what you do in overtime. It can change from time to time. I think if, you know, listen, if your offense is all of a sudden it just found a gear and you're in a flow, you've got momentum. Maybe you do want the ball to start off if you win the coin toss. Maybe maybe your defense is playing well enough where you feel confident that you can score a touchdown.
You can prevent them from scoring a touchdown. Maybe receiving at times is the right thing to do. But I think more times than not kicking off is the right thing. You know what you need to do. If the other team kicks field goal, well, you win it with a touchdown.
The other team scores a touchdown. Well, you need a touchdown. You're going for it on every fourth down. And then if you do score a touchdown, you have the option to go for two and the win or most likely settle for the tie, depending on how much time is left. But that absolutely was the right decision.
The Broncos to kick off. And I'll say it again, if the Seahawks win the toss, they're kicking off. They're relying on their defense. And we might be talking about a Seahawks win if they win the coin toss. That's what's crazy to me is I think we've gotten away because the rules are much different of well, they used to say this all the time and I totally disagreed with it.
But I understand where the point was coming from. It always was said, well, whoever wins the coin toss wins the game. I heard that a million times. And it's like, not necessarily. You got to just play defense.
Like I didn't have a problem. I would never go kicking and screaming if my favorite team lost the overtime coin toss and the other team only needed a field goal. I still wasn't complaining about that. But I have no sympathy for any team that lost the coin toss and then gave up a touchdown and didn't get a crack at it. They didn't get a possession.
I have no sympathy for you. It's like, prevent a touchdown from being scored. You can't do that. I really don't think you need or deserve a possession. But listen, it's entertaining when both teams get a possession.
And all I'm saying is, although it doesn't mean the same thing and you're not going to hear that probably ever again of whoever won the coin toss, they won the game. But whoever won the coin toss on Thursday night football between the Broncos and Seahawks, they're kicking off and they have a major advantage from that point on. So I don't know. I still think the coin toss means a ton is what I'm getting at. It doesn't mean the same, but it still means a lot.
The parallel would be you hear this a lot where, you know, like, look at where football once was, where you could deplete defenseless receivers. There was no such thing as a defenseless receiver. But the Deacon Jones day, you could head slap someone and go around the edge and root to the quarterback, get a sack and all the rules have changed a ton. It was far more barbaric way back when that doesn't mean that it isn't incredibly physical right now. That's the mistake a lot of people make is like, oh, it's too hand touch now.
It's such, you know, we're playing tiddly winks out there. Watch these games, watch the hits, watch the collisions. These are still ridiculous collisions out there. So it's the same thing with the overtime coin toss. Just because it's changed doesn't mean that, you know, it's done a 180, right?
Like the coin toss used to mean everything quote unquote. And now it doesn't mean anything. It still means a ton. Granted, it doesn't mean the same as it once did, but it still means a lot. The game isn't as physical and as barbaric as it once was with a lot of things being outlawed.
You can't land on a quarterback. Think about when Tony Seragusa did the Nest T plunge on top of Rich Ganon. You can't do that anymore. It's been outlawed. So it used to be way more barbaric and a lot of people make the mistake of saying, let's do hand touch.
It's like, no, dude, not at all. Some of these collisions are train wrecks. So like I think that people get that wrong where it has changed a lot and they overstate the change, right? Like the coin toss and the overtime rules have changed so much that I think, you know, they, they're no longer saying the coin toss means as much as it really does right now. It means a ton.
It still means a ton. Game is still incredibly physical, although a lot of things have been outlawed. It can be both. Just because a lot of things to be out have been outlawed doesn't mean it's no longer really physical. It is.
It's like the injury reports. Okay. Like it's not tiddly winks out there. All right. They're still, they're still getting after each other.
8, 7, 99 on Fox is your number. I want to go out to Joel is in Seattle. Let's get some Seattle flavor on the show. Shall we? Joel's got a thought on a Thursday night football.
What's going on? Joel. How you doing tonight? Pretty good. Well, it's tough being a Seattle sports man, but hey, hey, man, we need a running back.
You do and you had one. That's a sad thing, isn't it? It's got to be rough to see him doing what he's doing with the Chiefs. Well, I kind of enjoy it, but you love misery is what you're telling us here, Joel, right? Like I'm sure you're happy that he's doing well, but you'd have to want him to be doing well for your team, though, right?
Yeah, it's tough to see our quarterback throwing a sea of orange jersey. Oh, he's so bad. I don't know what to tell you, man. He really is an easy, easy quarterback. No, he's not.
Not this year. He wasn't on Thursday night. Yeah, Kerber, Herb Street pointed something out that did you watch his footwork on that one play? Well, I mean, yeah, there's a lot of place where you could point to that. But I think really that the bad thing was offensive line didn't give many time.
No, they didn't, but he compounded it. You know, he made things worse. By the way, Joel, what's going on? Is there is a bath time today? What is that in the background?
I'm so curious. It sounds like water is kind of like, you know, no, just fans. What is that? And cool with fans fans. Oh, it's fans.
OK, yeah. Water, no rain. That's good. You guys stay cool with fans every now and then. Yeah.
Wow. I didn't want to see at all tonight. Hot one right there. Crazy. So obviously, we're now we're like four games out.
Yeah, that's not good. Well, yeah, I mean, you're basically like, I don't know how you look at two and a half because the head loss, right? You're three and three Niners, five and oh, so really it'd be like it's almost like three full games, right? You're like two and a half back, but you lost the head to head. So not great.
Not great. You got any good news or what? Oh, man, about Seattle as well. I mean, great music scene outstanding music scene over there in Seattle, right? Some of the greats.
I mean, Hendrix goodness. Heart right, Coops, right? Love heart. Absolutely. Seattle, you know, the grunge era music music to cheer you up there, Joel.
So far sports, I don't have much for you outstanding defense, but offensively outside of JSN, I got nothing for you. Yeah. Okay, great call Joel. You know, seeing how bad Sam Donald is, it just makes me and it's and I can't it's hard to say this now with with how bad BONIX has been playing because everybody will just, you know, just jumping your face. But I truly believe that if BONIX didn't get hurt, the Broncos would be Super Bowl champions.
I don't and I believe they would have been into Super Bowl. That's not a leap. But to be champions, I don't know. It would have been a better game than what we got with the page in there. But you never know.
You don't think that Broncos defense makes Sam Donald see ghosts? They could have. They very well could have. You might be talking about a Broncos championship. Yeah.
BONIX is the present day Brad Johnson slash Trent Dilfer, right? Like we could we could be talking about that. It's possible. There was a funny tweet. Let me get it for you.
It was sent to the group text. This guy, he goes by State Fair Nick. He just wrote, Sam Donald is playing like Sam Donald again, but not the Sam Donald that turned into Sam Donald the Sam Donald before Sam Donald. I mean, look, man, they it was an outstanding defense last year for the Seahawks. Kenneth Walker meant a lot to that team.
The running game as a whole with both Kenneth Walker and Zach Sharba. They meant a lot. Sam Donald played well. Don't get me wrong. He played great in the NFC title game against the Rams who had no secondary, by the way, no secondary, Sam Donald, like the amount of praise I heard for Sam Donald last year, it showed you that Sam Donald is just a guy.
Okay, that's what it should have shown you. Why is that? Because your reaction shows what you expect. You know, nobody if my homes puts up a season where he throws 25 touchdown passes and leads the league in turnovers, like Donald had 14 turnovers, he's fumbling left and right. He led the league in turnovers.
No one is doing backflips and shirtless summer salts drooling over my home season where he's throwing 25 touchdown passes 14 interceptions. Nobody is doing that. But with Sam Donald doing it, it was like, whoa, look, look, look at Sam, look at this guy. He's balling out, man. Look at Sam.
You know, the situation showed that you expected nothing from Sam Donald and rightfully so, but he's gone back to exactly what he is. He's a journeyman quarterback in the NFL and he always will be. That's what he is. He needs a lot around him. You need a great defense, you need a great running game.
You need a great receiving threat. You have that and you have a great defense. You just don't have a running game that's reliable, not to the tune of what you had last season. And you're seeing the warts. That's, that's what you're seeing with Sam Donald.
So no, Sam Donald is Nick Foles. Esque, right? Nick Foles. I was calling him Nick Foles, meaning I take nothing away from him winning a Super Bowl with the Eagles. That was one of the greatest postseason runs you're ever going to see.
And listen, the Philly special will go down and NFL lore, Super Bowl lore, the whole thing. He played great in that postseason, but he was not a franchise quarterback going forward. He just wasn't. And neither is Sam Donald. He's not a franchise quarterback where you can count on year in and year out to get you the promised land, to give you a chance to win a Super Bowl because he's going to be good enough to do so.
He's at least give you a chance. You can't count on that every single year. And you're seeing that, right? Like, look at what it took to get there last season. That is very hard to just copy and paste year after year after year after year.
He's got to play better. And even on a team that had all of that great defense, one of the best receivers in the game in JSN, he's still throwing 14 interceptions last season. And it was nothing but an onslaught of praise and drooling. And Sam Darrill, it was like, well, was it the old Saturday night live skit or Gazim boy? That's how it was where I was like, game after game like, oh my gosh, Sam Darrill, like, guys, he played all right.
He managed the game all right. Let's not go crazy. Let's keep it in perspective over. No, there wasn't slowing anybody down. And now we're seeing Darrill, he walked into that game with seven interceptions and five.
I'm sorry, seven touchdown passes, five interceptions. They throw two more through two more seven and seven. That's what he's got this season. Seven touchdown passes, seven picks. It's not good enough.
This isn't. So no, I'm not high on Sam Darrill at all. And listen, we'll get to I think I'm going to tease it all night. We got some bonic sound. I don't know if it's ever going to get played.
I might have to email it over to Coop and we'll get it in the system, but it might be the only way to do so. I'll throw it your way. I'll throw it because yeah, there are a couple of bells and whistles on that thing. Yeah, but we'll get to that around the corner. And listen, if you want to chime in about baseball, be my guest.
You know me, I am a football addict. I am a ballaholic, if you will. So you know, my focus goes straight to Broncos beating the Seahawks. I still have many takes on baseball. If you have takes, feel free to get them off.
You're more than welcome to get in here. The water is just fine. It's very inviting. So yeah, more than welcome to get your baseball takes in here as well. I'm sure Ben would have many thoughts about the Dodgers.
I have thoughts as well. So we'll get to those right around the corner. Dodgers go down in flames, getting swept by the Brewers. One Bo-Nix. Oh, Bo's middle name.
You know what, cool. Big Broncos fan. You know his middle name? I'm gonna guess Bo Anthony next. Bo Anthony next.
Winner next. Bo bailed out, Nick's. Maybe that's what it needs to be right there. By the way, it's Sam Dick Darnold. That's a good one.
Sam Richard Darnold. The owners remember that right? Sam Dick Darnold right there. Let's check out Bo-Nix. Chapman.
No, are you kidding? Yeah, you're right. Bo Chapman next what? I wonder if that's a whatever name in the family. His uncle's name is something.
Bo Chapman next. That doesn't even sound real. Wow, that is crazy. Yeah, he has no nicknames. How can that be?
I love the nicknames too. Oh no, pro football reference. I love these. Let me give you a couple of Josh Allen. I know he has a couple.
Oh, there's one here. Josh Allen, Bill Scorderback. Let me get it for you. Hold on. We got a couple of Josh Allen's here.
Let me get the right one. Goodness. My computer, dude. I can not hit the button. Have you ever heard Josh Allen, Bill Scorderback?
Have you ever heard him referred to as the general? I have never heard that. Have you heard J.A. 17? Never heard that.
You have ever heard the winner soldier? That's my favorite one. You have. Have you heard that? Yeah.
The winter soldier. Josh Allen, Bill Scorderback. Wow. I've never heard that last one here real fast. I love this fun with nicknames Tom Brady.
Have you ever heard? I know he has an eclectic one. So by the way, Thomas Edward Patrick Brady right there. TP 12. Everybody knows that.
Not as much Tom terrific. Haven't heard a ton of that. I heard. No, the goat, of course, right? Yeah.
Come back kid or sir. Nope. Nope. This is my favorite one. These are on football reference.
Yeah, they have pro football reference. My favorite one. Have you ever in your life heard Tom Brady referred to as the pharaoh? What? It's a real thing.
I'm looking at it right now. Who has ever said that? I've never heard that ever in my life. The pharaoh? That is wild.
Yeah, that's unbelievable right there. Wow. We're learning stuff left and right here. All right. 87799 on Fox is your number.
You know, by now, also on X at the no show is where you can find me. Feel free to hit me up. We'll get to the tweets here momentarily. Thoughts on the Dodgers crashing and burning thoughts on Thursday night football going forward. We'll look for the rest of week six.
Lots going on here. College football as well. Man, did they screw this thing up with the 2014 playoff just outrageous. It's all that coming up right around the corner. I'm Brian.

My guy, Blind Scott, is checking in right here. I love talking Blind Scott. What's going on? What's going on, Blind Scott? What's a good word, man?
What's up, Brian? I'm not going to channel some Fred Touchy right here. I don't think I'm free. Whatever here this dude. So Fred Touchy said please the most overrated guitar.
It's all about Blind Scott. He's a bassist, right? He's a bassist. Yeah, I mean, right. I'm actually covered.
So this is what I've heard in music from people from back in the day who covered these bands. You know what I'm saying? That their songs don't hold up today. You know, as a band went on, like the albums got worse. They got mainstream.
You don't hear them play today. Like I listen to 80s music, 90s rock all the time. You know what I'm saying? I really mean to feel like, you know, we'll get off that flea stuff. That's a long one.
Wow, man. That's crazy. Touchy, no love for flea. That's crazy. He does it like flea, the descendants were just in Boston.
I was in favor of banding. He's a music expert. He's a lot of these people. Like Olivia Rodriguez, she's coming into Boston on Sunday. She's one of the best musicians in the show.
She has a whole band, a dance team, you know. But I'm really into Coley Dan. I like the whole story of Coley Dan. I like when you listen to Coley Dan, you can hear the music. Like he does a lot of drugs, a phlonious show.
So the band broke up and then they remastered all their music now. I'm really into music now. I love music. I do music therapy. I do a lot of dancing to get dopamine vibes and everything.
Brian, so how about metal blinds, Scott? You ever get the release of metal? You get into that at all? Yeah. So they do have a metal scene in Boston.
I'm Boston. They have a Boston metal, which is big back in the day. Now they call it hardcore. What happened to Boston? What happened to Boston was that metal scene got hijacked by this weird, like metal scene that showed up like 20 years ago.
And it totally failed. I don't know if you know what I'm talking about, but it was a whole music scene. Those guys that made the Yankee stuff, these shirts, they had like a record label and they tried to put this metal scene out that just came from Boston. It was awful. That drove me away from metal.
I live right now. I like Cambridge, Central Square in Cambridge. So they got the most famous musicians that come from right there in Cambridge. So there's a lot of blind musicians. So I'm blind.
So I've been at it wrong with like all blind people playing instruments at school for the blind, like waiting for a guy, dogs or whatever you know what I'm saying. What do you play blinds, Scott? You're a guitarist. What do you get down with? Yeah.
I mean, I have a guitar. I have one behind me, but I live in like 250 square foot runs. So I'd wake up my neighbors if I started playing it, but I would love. So my friend Adam 12, out for the radio, he plays in a jazz band. He got a scholarship.
He's on the radio. He's on like 105.7 WRR. He's like 50. He's got a scholarship. So like Northeastern, to play tumbone, you know, a lot of musicians end up in these weird jobs from the radio.
But I really like I have a guy that lives below me. Dude, he's a Roger Daltry impersonator. He's in his 60s. He has his band. It's called The Magic Bus.
He looks just like the guy. He does music lessons below me like all day long. I mean, I could take a I could take a music lesson on free if I want to. You know what I'm saying? Well, I'll tell you what, Blind Scott, what we need to do.
We need to have a jam session next time, you know, I could get an idea. I'll get the guitar out. We'll do a little jamming. All right. Any metal that you know, anything in your wheelhouse?
No, I mean, I could play a couple of chords. I could go in any directions. Maybe you could send me in the right direction. I have all the time in the world. I can't really walk around.
I'm always like, I would love to do that. Yeah. So I never really I know you from grubby games. So we used to talk about your music, but I just want to talk to the people. It would come up in conversation.
So I love to learn if you have the time. We could do a podcast together to read emails from people. We could call it the sixth hour with Brian. No, and blind shot, you know, you could put I have a demo out there right now. Don this thing is called the blind leading the blind with Ben Mallard on the fifth hour.
You could listen to it. You want to demo it with a little bit of a ditch. I don't know. The blind leading the blue. Hey, man, hey, you were something you might leave me on a second floor venue after hanging out with Michael Leprecon and being legless and leaving me there.
Totally blind. I have 15 tranks and not let me go to the red box game with you and leaving me outside. You were on the ground floor by the time we left. We all were. We all were.
So you can't say that. I just miss you guys. I love saying that. I think it's funny. I just miss you guys.
I felt like Oozi like I was going to get sick. So I did recognize that I would maybe drop a drill better. So I didn't want you guys to take it. I had to hang out with Michael Leprecon all day. It was like I do the funniest thing I heard when I was here.
Then was like this is a massive chooset place. I needed to get cleaned up. There's all these feminists in which is here. It's really changed my life. My wife loves it.
He hates feminists and witches. Blind Scott. We'll jam next time. You know, get out. Maybe we'll do some podcast stuff.
We'll get crazy. Yeah, the crazy out contact. Your mind and I can talk to you through Lorraine first. And I'm just like, we can monetize this man. We're going to go to go to infinity chances here.
Let's do it. Let's do it. Blind Scott. I'm with it, man. I appreciate you checking in.
I got to remake my money from George Hulani and Rashid Shaheed. Seahawks money line. That was a disaster. What are you doing? You know what?
I got screwed on George Hulani. All right. Lorraine. That was a good bet. You are friends with so many professional betters.
I don't know why you just arrived at the Co-Tails. I did. I rode the wrong one. You rode the wrong one. My guy Gunnar is in Minnesota.
I want to hear what Gunnar's got to say. He's probably all giddy about his Carolina Panthers. Things are going to smack around Philly. No Jalen hurts. Excited about his timberwolves.
What's going on, Gunnar? What's a good word, man? Oh, sure. No, Gunnar, where's Gunnar at? I don't know if you're Mr.
Yeah. Co-Tails talk. It was check-in to see if is a bet on Bonix Cashed and it didn't. It was you know? You know, it'sìme Guidelines.
He just said he and said he said he said it was better. He said 307 passing yards. It just says 107 passing yards. What happened right there? I'm going to what happened.
What are you doing? Oh, I'm just laying with Sunday game. Easy win here. No, no hurts. No problem.
No hurts. No problem. Huh? It sounds like there's a country song right there to be made. No hurts.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's like winning the NFC South. No.
No. No. No. No. No.
No. No. No. No. No.
No. No. Oh, wait. You're not fixing. What did you buy off?
That's the 0 and 5 Dolphins. OK, Gunnar, all right. Oh, OK. Give me one. Give me one win.
You look out. Come 2030. You don't want any of the aqua and orange. It's going to take a little bit. They're stripping it down.
All right. It's the way they should do it. They're not doing the Steelers thing here, where we're 500. We're going to win one playoff game and then get smacked. No.
No, no, we're stripping it down to the studs and rebuilding it right here, Gunnar. That's what happened. We did that. We did that. Yeah.
It has to happen, man. I'm excited. I don't know how effective they'll be but entertainment value Yeah I hated that he went down that was unfortunate man Is our guy to sumo is he back old? I was back. Okay. Good good right?
We get um Who's the guy the high-flying guy from Illinois refresh my memory Terence? What's the guy's name? I'm off my Are we gonna see a bigger role from this guy? Oh my think enough? Yeah, let me look at my yeah, we got a bigger bowl this year. Yeah, yeah
61 wins for the T wolves hung under okay, well, why will we just parlay this timber wolves NBA championship Panthers NFL Super Bowl Triumph what what do you think here? Oh my god? Yeah, you can retire on that If you bet a dollar wait a minute Not that far the odd thing this year. Yeah, if you just bet a dollar one of five that's why I was like Terence Shannon Jr I could not come up with the name here goodness. I were my lifeline We're on we were on who wants to be a millionaire I phone I phoned a friend and you came up with nothing here gunner I was a turn Shannon. Did he really yeah, I did you seriously said that yeah?
Can we remind the call he said Terence Shannon? He didn't add that he didn't say junior, but he did say turn Shannon. Oh, I've dismissed the user error I take back all of that here. It's bad listening skills. All right gunner. We got a run man. Always good to talk to you though
There he is gunner now. I know we're the press for time or something quick I don't want to defend a delusional fan such as gunner because he is delusional right? Yeah, but are we sure that Bryce Young's not a good quarterback? He didn't say good. He said great. Are we sure he's not a great quarterback? Yes, we're sure he's not a great court
He's putting up great numbers. Okay. Yes, but we're gonna get excited because he carved up the horrible Lions defense That's the prime time fire, but he did pretty well last year also and he's he's only like 25 for something like that Yeah, no Bryce Young is he's improving. You know what he is He's like Sam Darnold like the expectations were in the toilet because he was so bad and now that he's better Some people are overstating how much better he is that that's where we are. This is Darnold desk. You buy that
