Big day, a lot of big-time dignitaries and coaches and players hoping for big seasons, sort of swirling around the area. Sitting right next to us right now, David Epps. He is the brand new Peach Bowl CEO. Uh, we we used to have your predecessor on the show quite a bit. Good friend of the show, Gary's a great guy. He even called us from, I think, Muscle Beach in California once.David Epps: Video.Hosts: Video call us.David Epps: Yeah, video called us so you could see all the palm trees.Hosts: Uh, where where what kind of exotic location can we expect you to video conference into the show from?David Epps: Obviously, I'm going to have to raise my game from the Hilton in, uh, uptown Charlotte.Hosts: No doubt. No doubt. He You know, he I'll tell you, not to set the bar really high here, David, but we had Gary on a lot. And and he even invited Diesel and I, I can't remember which game it was, he invited us, peasants, to his suite. Can you believe that?David Epps: That's outstanding. He must have made quite an impression.Hosts: Uh, either that or he just felt bad for us. One of the two. We tried. We tried. We were hoping for the big prawns, the the big shrimp cocktail, but, uh, we probably had Chick-fil-A, uh, sandwiches instead. Uh, so so, um, you know, obviously, Gary did a great job, and you're stepping in to fill his role. Uh, and the Peach Bowl charities have done such amazing work. 71 point, uh, let me find the exact number here, $\$71.2$ million raised. Uh, how do you raise that bar? How do you how do you find ways to continue pushing what your charities do into new areas, uh, when you've already done so much?David Epps: Well, it's a great question, and it's a big challenge.Hosts: Yeah.David Epps: Because, you know, part of our DNA is giving and making sure we impact our community. And that can mean a lot of different things. But for us, it means that we're not going to take a step back from what we've done, and we're going to try to cast a wider net so that we, uh, we look at donating and impacting maybe different areas of our city where we haven't been able to before. Um, we're going to try to expand our reach and, ultimately, it's about maintaining your focus. And I like to say that if we do well, we can do good. And we're not going to stop doing well, so the amount of good we can do in our communities is only going to grow.Hosts: So talk about that good in the communities. You know, $\$71.2$ million, it's it sounds like a big number, and it is. It's a phenomenal number to say out loud. But when it comes to tangible assets that our listeners who who drive into Atlanta down from Greenville into Atlanta and and the locals there in Atlanta, what do they see, what do they touch that says, "This right here provided by the Peach Bowl"?David Epps: Yeah, it's a good combination of tangible and intangible. So, uh, we have certainly done Boys and Girls Club, YMCA, um, renovations, sport fields. Um, we've done a lot of work with Extra Yard for Teachers redoing media centers and libraries in elementary and middle schools around the city. So, some of that really very tangible things. We made a huge artwork donation of Giant Peach right outside of Mercedes-Benz Stadium. So, there are some very tangible things.But equally important, we've donated over $\$25$ million to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta—Hosts: Wow.David Epps: —for cancer research, but also cancer treatment. So, although it's not something you can drive by and point at, um, we've got over a dozen actual clinical treatments going on right now to treat different types of childhood cancer, um, that are a direct result of the money that we've donated. Uh, and the same for our Atlanta public school system. We've worked with Extra Yard for Teachers on doing a literacy program. You know, you ask these schools, "What's the thing that's most impor ...
