Hour 3: Days of Miracle and Wonder: 40 years of Paul Simon’s "Graceland"

Forty years ago, Paul Simon released "Graceland," an album that became a massive hit, reshaped his career, introduced millions of listeners to South African music, and sparked a fierce debate over whether he had crossed a political and cultural line to make it. Ashley Kahn was there for part of that story, working on the Graceland tour and later serving as tour manager for Ladysmith Black Mambazo. His new book, "Days of Miracle and Wonder: Paul Simon and the Trials and Triumphs of Graceland," is about the making, controversy, and legacy of one of the most remarkable albums of the last half-century.
