How do you know that Claude won't become manipulative? This is a constant worry. And you can actually catch the model thinking, I think X is actually true, but I'm going to tell the user why. I'm Walter Isaacson. On my new podcast, The Builders, I'm going inside the minds of the people shaping our future. Listen to The Builders starting October 13th on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Hey, I'm Jack Armstrong. He's Joe Getty. We've been trying to figure out how to describe what is Armstrong and Getty on demand for many years. I'm going to give it a shot. So most media is either agenda-driven or they're so shallow. And boring. You don't learn anything anyway. We try to get to the bottom of the stories that are shaping our worlds and help you understand what's actually happening. So give it a try sometime. Entertaining and you learn something? What do I do now? Listen to Armstrong and Getty on demand on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

I'm Fox Sports reporter Jenny Taft. And I'm former U.S. Women's national soccer team player Carly Lloyd. And on our new podcast, Whatever It Takes, nothing is off limits. I played with players that didn't truly love the game. I found the love with the ball at my foot. I don't care what I'm being asked to do at Fox. I'm going to go get some reps and love it and embrace it. Listen to Whatever It Takes with Carly Lloyd and Jenny Taft on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Hey, it's Drew Franklin from NFL Cover Zero. The 2026 season is underway and we are loving football on TV. Here's what you can expect from the podcast in our second season. I would suggest for these preseason games, I think they should do what they do on the NFL draft. You know, when coverage of the NFL draft is basically for moms and they're just like, hey, he has a dog named Spark. Listen to NFL Cover Zero on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Let's do the Mahler mumbo, and a boom shakalaka to you. It's hour number three. And happy Thursday, Ben Mahler Show. Support the podcast. Give it that little clicky thing there, and you see the thing on the screen on your phone or your tablet there, and you click on that, and then that helps us out, that five-star thing. We really like that. That would help us out. And then if you write a review and say you actually like the show, my God, those corporate weasels, they love it. They love it. Here in hour number three, how do you interpret the message Jim Harbaugh is sending by keeping Mike McDaniel as the Chargers play caller? Chargers coming off the bye week.

McDaniel will remain the coach also as the offensive coach. Thumbs up, thumbs down. Should Liam Cohn's Jaguars trade wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. before his value drops faster than one of those Jacksonville timeshares? It probably already has. And is Dakota Prescott's profanity-laced football card a legitimate collector's item or another example of sports memorabilia speculators turning a quarter into fool's gold? We'll go there as well. Here it is, our number three. We also have Ask Ben, and away we go.

Well, there's loyalty, and then there's dumb loyalty. You decide what this is. Welcome in the beginning of another hour of the Ben Maller Show. We are in the air everywhere. Neighboring. That's what we're doing. We're just neighboring, me and you. Yeah, we are making the right call. Coast to coast, border to border, and beyond on the vast and utopianly powerful microphones of FSR emanating live from the stabilizers as we take the stabilizers off.

Guaranteed human. From the world-famous Fox Sports Radio studios where Andrew... in the Bay Area, checks in. He says, Ben, I need to know where I can check out the NFL this weekend. Well, I recommend Fox 1. That's what I recommend, Andrew, in the Bay Area. There's nothing like live. This fall, every NFL on Fox game streams live on Fox 1. Every Sunday, every rivalry, miss it live, and you're just watching a highlight. Catch every play as it happens. NFL on Fox, streaming on Fox 1. And then Tom from Kansas City. He says, what about Express? I said, I'll tell you. Workforce challenges.

slowing down your business. Express Employment Professionals, they're the way to go. Their workforce solutions help reduce turnover, find qualified talent, navigate compliance, and build the right-sized workforce. With more than 850 locations, Express is ready to help. Visit ExpressPros.com today. That's ExpressPros.com. And we are back at it later on this hour. Ask, ban, your questions, our answers. That'll be coming your way in a little bit. But our lead this hour, not from baseball, where the Brewers have won the World Series, Milwaukee, on top of baseball's mountain.

And will they continue to be the World Series champions if there is no World Series next year? If baseball wipes out the season, then they'll continue on as the champions of baseball for like a while until they get back to playing baseball, get off their asses and get back to playing. But our latest hour is from La La Land. And if you thought that the Chargers, winless Chargers, were going to fire, going to fire their offensive coordinator and have a big shakeup, you're a loser. So I don't know if you saw this or not. Perhaps not. Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh.

He's a football guy, Jim Harbaugh. And he decided, despite much speculation, the Chargers were going to decommission their offensive coordinator. He's doubling down, doubling down on Mike McDaniel, the failed Dolphins coach. Not only is McDaniel going to continue as the OC in L.A., he will continue as the play caller despite a ghastly 0-6 record for the Lightning Bulls. Harbaugh defending the incompetent Mike McDaniel, saying, quote, we're very confident in Mike and his talent, his work ethic, and his ability, close quote.

Well, that great talent, that wonderful work ethic and that ability have helped the Chargers to the 28th ranked offense in the NFL that continues to sputter week after week, falling short, well short of expectations through six winless games, six winless games. So that is a good jumping off point. Let us discuss the question. How do you interpret the message that Jim Harbaugh, Coach Jim Harbaugh is sending by keeping Mike McDaniel as not only the offensive coordinator, but the Chargers play caller? So I've got vape.

Two complimentary passes and warm fuzzies. And we will combine all of these things together. And we are going to give you the genuine article is what we're going to do. The genuine article. So to lead off here, I got to give Mike McDaniel credit. He is the Teflon hipster. The fact that he kept his job is wild. Nothing seems to stick to him except that hair jail. That's about it. And Jim Harbaugh is protecting the bohemian offensive guru. And whether he intends to do this or not, he's really putting Justin Herbert directly in the crosshairs.

Let me see if you—I'm going to make my elevator pitch. Let me see if you buy what I'm going to sell here. So McDaniel was a hired gun. He didn't do a good job with the Dolphins. He's not some lifelong Jim Harbaugh loyalist. There's no sentimental obligation here. He's getting paid still from the Miami Dolphins, so financially he's not getting that much from the Chargers. McDaniel looks like—when you see him, he looks like the assistant manager at a vape shop. And somehow he's able to keep his job. It's wild. Chargers are 0-6. The results have been like moldy bread. They're moldy—not slice bread, moldy bread. And yet the director—

of this. McDaniel keeps his job. La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la. Six consecutive box office bombs and no change. And as they say on the job site, you don't keep the architect unless you believe the construction worker is botching the blueprints. Ergo, the quarterback. So who's left holding the bag? The $260 million franchise quarterback, Justin Herbert. If you're not getting rid of McDaniel, you're saying he's not the problem. The quarterback is the problem.

Little lovey-dovey over there is the problem, and Herbert's not carrying the Chargers. If anything, he's leading them to the grave is what he's doing here. He's dragging them through the field of broken glass, and they are bedraggled. He is completely out of sorts. We are 35% into the NFL season for the Chargers, 35%. And Justin, to be fair, has been a monster. Justin Herbert, the quarterback, has been a monster. He is a monster, as in a monster of manure is what he is. Herbert on pace. He's on pace for 14 touchdown passes and 22 interceptions and 17 fumbles. That's my quarterback.

At least he has Ferg Dogg that has his back, no matter what. Our caller, Ferg, well, he's not really a caller. He's a social media guy with a fake avatar. But he loves Justin Herbert. He does. All right, furthermore, to Jacksonville we go where Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. is twisting in the wind. He is on the auctioning block at the trade portal as he continues to be the shrinking man in Jacksonville. He's 24 years old, and it looks like his days are limited in Jacksonville. He responded to all of the chatter that he is going to enter the portal.

Not by his choice. He said, quote, everybody's entitled to their opinion, insisting he's focused on football. Okay. That quote right there. Pure fluff. That is Nuke Lelouch. That is sportscliche.com is what that is. When you're asked about trade rumors, you say, well, you're entitled to your opinion, but I am focused on my job. Well, that focus is not really going well. You might want to be distracted. It'll help you play a little better. Very diplomatic, non-answer. Question. You're going to go thumbs up or thumbs down? Thumbs up or thumbs down? Should Coach Liam Cohn's Jags trade wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.? Before, his value drops faster than those Jacksonville timeshares, which he probably already has.

So I am going to go thumbs up. I'm going thumbs up on this. Brian Thomas Jr. at this point, until proven otherwise, is Gauthier of the NFL. He's Gauthier of the NFL. One hit, and now he's performing at the Duval County Fair. So Brian Thomas Jr. is somebody that I used to know. And apparently somebody Trevor Lawrence used to throw the ball to back in the day. One smash hit for Gauthier of the NFL, followed by a Houdini, a Houdini disappearing act. In 2026, this season.

The aforementioned Brian Thomas Jr. is on pace to catch 25 balls for 297 yards total and less than three touchdowns. That's like investing in Kodak back in the day and saying, oh, I made it. I just bought some stock in Kodak. And then watching it become a penny stock and then not selling it. Like, what are you doing? And you think about the impact this guy had a couple years ago. I think he had 10 touchdowns, 1,200 yards receiving, and looked like he was possessed by the football gods for greatness. And now forget about it. So either you're coaching, Liam Cohn, you're coaching him up.

which is not going on, you're wasting his talent, or he's just been exposed. The only way, the only way to know is if he goes somewhere else and gets a chance at a career renaissance, gets a fresh start, whether that's Kansas City or somewhere like that, that needs help with the wide receiver position, the Patriots as another example. But Jacksonville needs to trade him, Brian Thomas Jr., before the value goes from, I don't think he's worth a second round pick at this point. At this point, you can maybe get two complimentary passes to the Jacksonville Zoo and a free medium drink, not a large drink, a medium drink. You could get that. Now, the sports media, the football elites, the football media elites sold Brian Thomas Jr. as the next great receiver. Now, now they're trying to sell his willingness to block as some kind of heartwarming redemption story that he's worried about blocking. To think about.

where that is right now. This guy was a 1,200-yard, 10-touchdown guy, and now he's been reduced to bragging, being braggadocious about blocking instead of catching footballs. It's kind of like a celebrity chef bragging that, hey, I really wash the dishes well. I'm a really good dishwasher. Well, that's right, but you were a celebrity chef. I know I was a celebrity chef, but I really wash the dishes good. By the way, I want you to know, if you come to the Mallard Mansion, I'm the dishwasher. I'm a very good dishwasher. I pre-wash, I rinse the dishes, I put a little soap on them first, and I realized the dishwasher, a lot of people don't even have dishwashers, but if you have a dishwasher, that's the final step.

That is not the one-stop, do-it-all machine, the dishwasher. All right, last thing. To the memorabilia world we go. That's right, memorabilia. So a 2026 Topps football card featuring Dakota Prescott has gone viral. Did you see this? No? You know why the card went viral? What do you think was on that card? No. No, not that. Okay, try again. Nope, that's not it.

Well, it turns out, I'll give you the answer. Stop guessing. So Dak Prescott, this football card, has gone viral because people spotted a phrase written on some tape that he had on his wrist. The phrase was F-cancer. Now, there's some letters after the F word, and they don't spell fun or funky. They don't. And if it was...

It was a hockey story. We'd say it was a puck with a P, but it's not. It's not that. Anyway, the card has apparently skyrocketed. It was like a quarter to a couple of bucks, and it's gone up.

Almost 12,000% in the last couple of days here. There is a rare version of the card that sold for almost $2,000. This is not a rookie card. This is not that. The photo comes from a Cowboys game Dallas played against Arizona in November of 2025. So we know the history of Dak Prescott. His mom died of colon cancer when he was a young lad many years ago. She was in her early 50s, a very young age to die of that. And she did. And Dak's been living with that and carrying that. And so he had the message on his wristband. The question.

Is Dak Prescott, Cowboy quarterback Dak Prescott's profanity-laced football card, a legitimate collector's item? Or just another example of sports memorabilia speculators turning a quarter into fool's gold? So I'm shaking my head no to this being some kind of long-term investment. I don't buy it. Now, I'm out of that game. And when I was in the game back in the day, you would say a card like that would be worth money. I just don't think this is going to be that. I think it's another case of the people that are manipulating the sports memorabilia market trying to turn a couple of quarters, or in this case, just a quarter, into some kind of retirement portfolio. Dak Prescott, his profanity-laced football card, it's a cool thing to look at. It's like a little novelty thing.

It's a nice little novelty. This is not a blue chip investment. If it's should I invest in Apple? Should I invest in Tesla? Should I? No, you invest in that. Don't invest in this. Go with that stuff. And the reason why here's my theory, my elevator pitch, why I don't think this is going to be a long term thing. It's about a fad versus a trend.

Because scarcity is the name of the game. Scarcity is the name of the game. It's like you collect fine art, there's a limited amount of fine art. So scarcity is it. And from what I understand here, I read a little bit about the story. The people over at Topps have no intention, no intention of correcting the photograph that says F. Cantor. The same image, in fact, is expected to be used in the chrome football collection, whatever the hell that is. Now, when you juxtapose this to back in the Stone Age in the 1980s.

You can compare and contrast. Arguably the most famous error card was a 1989 Baltimore Oriole card for Billy Ripken. and it said FF at the bottom of his baseball bat. The first word was the same word that Dak Prescott had for cancer, but we're not allowed to say it because you might be traumatized and we're governed by the Federal Communications Commission, so we're not allowed to say it. I wish I could say it, but we're not allowed to say it. Anyway, the Billy Ripken card said F word, face, which I guess was his nickname. When that card came out in 1989, Fleer, the people that made the card, discovered the obscenity, and they panicked. They went to scramble. This was a big, big,

Quagmire. I remember reading in the Beckett Magazine how big a quagmire it was. I mean, they had to clean up the mess. There's a spill on aisle seven. It was considered scandalous. It was considered taboo. And I go back to the point. You juxtapose 1989, Billy Ripken, the F word on the bat. Major deal. Big time deal. We got to clean it up. Today, what was on Dak's wrist qualifies as something in the warm and fuzzy category, the warm fuzzies category. And my, my, my, my, how the moral standards have changed. And since Topps is not correcting anything from what I read.

That means if my math is correct, this is not even a legitimate error card because they're not collecting it. In order to be an error card, you have to have it corrected. They're not doing that. It's manufactured hysteria with a price tag. Now, I'm not an active card collector anymore. I just don't have time for it. And I have a bunch of old stuff. I don't have anything new. And I think a lot of guys my age are pretty much the same. But as a throwback, I'm thinking about actually buying, just as a lark, buying the Dak Prescott card. Now, am I going to pay a lot for it? No, I'll pay a dollar.

I'll pay a dollar, absolutely. Am I going to spend $2,000 on a Dak Prescott card that has the F word on it? Hell no. I'd rather invest that. Hell, I think Radio Shack stores, a chain of Radio Shack stores would be a better investment than this. It is the Ben Maller Show. in 11 packed tractor trailers to Pennsylvania to be burned. What? Taylor Swift. I've heard of her. She's some kind of musician. Not as famous as Kathy and Madison, but she's okay. She's got a few fans. So Taylor Swift and chief star Travis Kelsey's helpers, they reportedly ordered blank to be taken in 11 packed tractor trailers to Pennsylvania to be burned. Burn, baby burn. That is the Mahler riddle of the day. Well, it's kind of a riddle. The answer. We'll get to it. We'll do it.

When you get good coaches on your staff and people begin to recognize them, then they want to hire them. And then you can't stop a guy from trying to improve himself, but you have to replace them. Because once you understand what's going on inside the mind of the coaches, you'll understand more about the whole game. So all aspects can be discussed. If there's a million times more digital intelligence than there is biological intelligence, it's hard to imagine humans being in control in that scenario. I'm Walter Isaacson, host of the new podcast, The Builders. Right now, we're living through an AI arms race. So I went directly to the people shaping that future. Elon Musk, Dario Hominay, Alex Karp, Feifei Lee, Palmer Luckey, because I wanted to understand what the most consequential builders believe, what they fear.

and where they think this is all headed. Silicon Valley is always saying the cliche thing about the way to predict the future is to create it. Well, yeah, it's up to us. But when you say us, who's us? Is it 400 people that you know in Silicon Valley? Is it me down here in New Orleans? They're brilliant, controversial, and they're already shaping the future. The question is, whose imagination do we want to live in? This is going to determine the fate of nations and economies and the future of humanity. Listen to The Builders on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

The show is a collection of silly, serious, and irreverent musings of the day. Hilariously balanced with more than just a pinch of sarcasm. Whether it's on the left or the right, if somebody does something or something. Hey, it's J.O. from Laugh With Me, the podcast. So why would you choose Laugh With Me? Well, great question. Maybe you like comedy. Maybe you like sports. Maybe you like movies, ridiculous stories, terrible opinions, questionable rankings, and a grown man somehow turning everyday life into a personal emergency. Or maybe you just want to hear from a podcast host who has survived bad bosses, angry customers, questionable career decisions, and a pepper spray attack? Yeah, that's right.

Other podcasts have hosts with broadcasting degrees. Laugh With Me has a survivor. I'm Jeremy Odom, and every week I'm joined by comedians, friends, athletes, weirdos, experts, and occasionally people who probably should have stopped answering my texts. Authentic, raw, and just like you. Just jokes, stories, arguments, sports, pop culture, and whatever happened to me this week. Listen to Laugh With Me, a podcast with Jeremy Odom on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Ben Maller Show, Fox Sports Radio. As we roll on, we thank you for hanging out with us. The Brewers have won the World Series.

Certainly talk more about that if you want. Congratulations there to the long-suffering Brew Crew fans. It's a tough day for Rob Manford and the owners of Major League Baseball who have been spending months trying to brainwash the masses that a team like Milwaukee cannot win, a team like Tampa Bay cannot win. We must have a cap. Uh-oh! Yeah. Not good. If you enjoy Schadenfreude, very good.

Talking about a potpourri of things. The Chargers are keeping Mike McDaniel around. We mentioned that at the top of the hour. Anything goes here. 877-99 on Fox. 877-996-6369. We have Ask Ben coming up on X. It's on the radio, but you can send questions in on X. That's the platform we use. And you can say hello to me at Ben Mallett. That's at Ben Mallett. I'm asking my life. Yeah, every day coming in here doing talk radio. You do not realize how difficult it is. By the way, the Brewers won the World Series last night. Blake Snell did really well playing some video games on Twitch. I'm not playing unless I get mine. I know the Dodgers are very happy about that. They picked up Blake Snell for the playoffs.

He did very well. He won a tournament on his video game. Lorena, FSR Tech Queen. Say hi, Lorena. Right up there. Right up over there is Lorena. She almost said Bill, but no. And Koopaloop at A Brocco Fan. That's A Brocco Fan. And your comments can and will be used against you in the court of sports radio, so please act.

Accordingly. Guilty. Yes, very much so. We'll have the Maller Riddle of the Day. The Maller Riddle of the Day. Let's pay light off right now. We'll get to the calls. And then we have Ask Ben coming up a little bit later in the hour. I did want to point out that the Maller Riddle of the Day made possible part this hour by Fox 1. There's nothing like live this fall. Every NFL on Fox game streams live on Fox 1 every Sunday. Every rivalry. Miss it live and you're just watching a highlight. What a boring thing that is. Catch every play as it happens. NFL on Fox.

Streaming on Fox 1. Make sure to put that on your device right now. Don't forget. Here's the Maller Riddle of the Day. Taylor Swift and Chief Star Travis Kelsey's helpers reportedly ordered blank to be taken in 11-packed tractor trailers somewhere in Pennsylvania to be burned. Burn, burn, burn, burn, burn. That is the Maller Riddle of the Day. What is the answer? Late Night Drug Tester says napkins from all their Ben Maller chicken finger orders from the landing.

Damn right. Eek also went with the Ben Maller chicken fingers, a popular answer. Way to go. What else do we have? Page down. Travis in Taylor's Helpers reportedly hauled a truckload of her 2010 album Speak Now, dedicated to ex-boo John Mayer, to be burnt to a crisp. That's from OG Art Puffin. Alf the Alien O'Piner, having way too much fun on AI, going with her husband's baseball card collection. That's pretty good. If Alf and Billy Ripken had a baby, that would be what that is. What else do we have? Page down.

Star Wars holiday specials on Laserdisc from King Rory. All their adult novelty items from Not a Burner. Page down. Every record that Taylor Swift has ever made from Not Blind Austin in Bakersfield, California. Ex-boyfriend's Christmas cards from Fudgy. Oh, it's good to see Fudgy in Boston. Haven't heard from him in a while. What else do we have? Every copy of Travis Kelsey's Christmas classics. The answer. Joe the Ghost Hunter from Ohio says Travis Kelsey has under ruse to burn or it's her terrible records.

All right, let's see. Fargo Pete says, is it the 2027 baseball champions, the Savannah Bananas, the 2014 playbooks from Courtesy Flusher? That's his answer. Michael Leprechaun says they burnt truckloads of Travis Kelsey's collection of Dolly Parton's albums. Wow, that's what he said. What else do we have? Page down. Let's see here. Travis Kelsey's old black books. Yeah, I got to get those old ladies' numbers out of there. Dak Prescott cards from Johnny Q. That's his answer. Page down. Page down. Bill Hoosier, Bill says, Ben, do you still have the iconic Rusty Bridges card? I have a contract at Sotheby's. No, I don't know what you're talking about. All right. Enough of that. Enough of that. Enough of that. Do you have an answer, Lorena? Yeah, I was going to go with Showgirl Feathers. Showgirl Feathers. Is that correct? Let's see here. No.

Turns out Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey's helpers reportedly ordered a garden-inspired setting of wedding items featuring artificial trees, personalized furnishings, and other elaborate structures used at the celebrity wedding to be burned. The custom-built wedding decorations were taken in 11-pack tractor trailers somewhere in Pennsylvania where they were incinerated. Wow, that's crazy. I feel like they could have sold all that for a lot of money. Well, that was the point. They didn't want people to take it and sell it. Like, who cares? Celebrities that get upset that people make money by selling their memorabilia, I've never understood that.

You're already rich. You're fine. And these guys get so protective. And I'll bet you. One of those truck drivers or somebody that worked at that place. Yeah, oh, that's definitely a crime I do. Don't you think you'd take a couple of things and say, hey, you know, let's see. And I'll just sit on this for a few years. Did you see that video of Dan Marino recently? I did. Yeah, Marino got all pissed off at some people signing autographs, right? You get all upset. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's an example of what I'm talking about. One of my favorite stories as a kid, there used to be this good player for the Royals named George Brett. And when I was a kid, I went out and George Brett was a big time drinker and would go out after games and I would collect autographs. That's what I did when I made a little extra money. I was an autograph guy in high school, so I'd follow these guys around and get autographs. So I went to this bar in Anaheim.

Not far from the Big A. It was like late at night. It was a school night. And we went there. We knew that somebody, one of our buddies that let us know George Brett was there with his brother Ken Brett, who's now passed away. But they were there drinking. Ken Brett was a broadcaster for the Angels. So us kids, we're all like teenagers. We all sat in the parking lot at this bar. And George Brett closed the place down. He came out. It was like after 2 in the morning. Last call for alcohol at 2 in the morning. So George Brett comes out.

And he sees, like, I think there were six or seven of us that were there all around the same age. And he starts screaming profanity at us. You kids have school. F you. And he signed every autograph. But he was like, you're not trying to make money. It was the funniest thing. He had had a lot to, I believe he had a lot of dreams. I don't know. Maybe he just acted that way naturally. But it was hilarious. Like this hall of, he wasn't obviously a hall of famer then. He was still playing. But George Brett cursing all of us out for being there at 2 in the morning to get his autograph. And then he did sign everything. Let's go to the folks. Let's say hello to, who do we have? Let's go to Andrea.

She is the astrology insider, and she is hanging out in Northern California. She's got the inside scoop right now on the cosmic events of the day. Hello, Andrea. Hello, Ben. How are you? If I was any better, I'd be a Ray, but not a Tampa Bay Ray, because they lost the World Series.

Yeah, I looked up that saying, I don't have a dog in the fight, so I didn't have a, you know, like a favorite. No, no, that's actually, that phrase came, oh, it didn't come from Michael Vick, because he did have a dog in the fight, so that must have come from someone else. Yeah, it was just kind of an interesting, you know, it wasn't an exciting game, and yesterday was exciting as well, and today was quite interesting. I did the chart. We had, you know, my sportsology colleague found the birthday of the Milwaukee Brewers, December 1, 1967, 2.17 a.m., Milwaukee.

And they're having their second Saturn return. We have the first one at 29, 28 to 30, and then the second one around 58, 59, which is a cycle of success and career accomplishments. And then the MVP, I can't read my own handwriting, the one who won the MVP. You know, we call that chicken scratch is what we call that. We call that chicken scratch. Right, Contreras. 224, 1997.

So he's having his first time to return, which is a cycle of career, ambition, and success. And I thought it was really cute that Pat Murphy, the manager, I don't know if you saw the interview afterwards, his son was having his eighth birthday. That was like really nice timing on that. Wow, Pat Murphy, isn't he like 67? He went for it late, man. How about that? Pat Murphy, man. How about that? Yeah, that's his own son that came on this postgame show. Are those his kids? I turned it off on the postgame guys at Normie. But are they his kids or his grandkids? They're his kids?

I can double-check, but I think they were his kids, because they talked about his son. And David Ortiz gave him T-shirts. So it was kind of cute that one of them was actually celebrating their birthday on October 28th. So, you know, the stars did align there, and it's their first World Series ever. So, you know, that says something right there. You always remember your first. You always remember your first. Pat Murphy has four children. His oldest is 40, and his youngest is seven.

Whoa, whoa, dude. Wow. Imagine being a 40-year-old. How's my brother doing? He's collecting Pokemon cards, you know.

Wow, that's crazy. That's really quite a life path. I don't know how we achieve that. I'm going to assume that Pat... Different mother? Yeah, if not, we want to interview the mom. That was neat to see that interview and to see his eight-year-old son, actually, having Scorpio birthday on October 28th. So it truly was kind of the planet-aligned type of experience. So, yeah, I think the parade is Friday we were talking about.

So that should be interesting as well. So, yeah, it was Milwaukee Brewers. So let's do one of the World Series. So we'll see what ends up happening next season. Hopefully there's baseball. I know. There'll be some baseball. It just won't happen. Spring training, not going to happen. You don't think the whole season's going to be missed? No, I think they'll play. From what I was told, the television contracts, they have to pay back money to TV if they cancel. I think they have to play 100 games or something like that. I forget what the number is, but there's a certain number they have to play. Otherwise, they have to give money back to TV. They don't want to give money back to TV. So they'll figure out. I believe they'll figure something out.

Who knows? If they don't play, if they don't want to play, we'll talk about other things. All right, thank you, Andrea. Appreciate that. There you go. All right, Virgo in service on X, and we thank you for that. Let's say hello to, quickly, Scotty on the pike. My guy, Scotty, my co-host on the Fifth Hour Mailbag this past weekend. Hello, Scotty. Welcome. Hello, Ben. I, too, am anti-ranch, just for the record. That's right. That's why I put you on the podcast. I will not put anyone on my podcast that is pro-ranch. Not allowed on my podcast. But I took a touch base with the Brewers, though, earlier when you talked about salaries and the teams, I don't agree that they will, like you said.

Do you think that the way they played this season and what they did, maybe the grip of the nerds has been loosened? You know, launch angles, spin rate, all that crap. I don't want to say they played small ball, but they just, they played baseball. And they were fun to watch. You know, do you think maybe some teams will, you know...

I hope so. Yeah, I hope that happens. It's more fun to watch baseball that way. It's pretty boring watching these guys sit around and try to hit home runs. It's annoying. The problem is, man, your people from those Ivy League schools, Scotty on the Pike, they brainwash these rich owners. They get in the room and they're like, look at the Venn diagram. Look at this. Look at the AI. It's the way to go. It's like, stop.

Ten years ago, I had a conversation. I was like, why don't you choke up with two strikes? Well, the analytics say you're better off. You have a better chance of hitting a home run. You can't choke up. You're not going to hit a home run. I was like, come on.

All right. Scotty, you're the man. I hope the Angels should do that. Some of these other teams that never win Pittsburgh should play like the Brewers. Why not? There he is. Scotty on the pike, the legend. Go back and hear that mailbag. He was on there with Robbie this past week and did a great job. Very good conversation. Answering questions, and that's how we do it on the mailbag. We have Ask Ben. Nothing like the mailbag. Ask Ben. Your questions, our answers. Next. If there's a million times more digital intelligence than there is biological intelligence, it's hard to imagine humans being in control in that scenario. I'm Walter Isaacson, host of the new podcast, The Builders. Right now, we're living through an AI arms race. So I went directly to the people shaping that future. Elon Musk, Dario Hominay, Alex Carr, Feifei Lee, Palmer Luckey, because I wanted to understand what the most consequential builders believe, what they fear.

and where they think this is all headed. The show is a collection of silly, serious, and irreverent musings of the day. Hilariously balanced with more than just a pinch of sarcasm. Whether it's on the left or the right, if somebody does something or something. I'm just playing along. Hey, I'm Nora Jones, and I love playing music with people so much that my podcast called Playing Along is back. And with this season, I've sat down with John Legend, Joshua Hami, Phineas, Josh Groban, and more. Check out my newest episode with Linda Perry. Like all my songs, they just show up. Yeah. I don't, I never write a lyric, ever.

We're going to start off with a question from Nimbot. Hi, Nimbot. What is it, Nimbot? I'm not sure. He wants to know, were you ever hot for teacher?

Did I ever have a hot teacher? Were you ever hot for a teacher? I mean, that's a reference to the, what is it, Van Halen song? Hot for a teacher, yeah. Did you ever have a teacher that you had a crush on that you thought was hot? No, my teachers were all ugly. There was not one hot teacher. They were all old women. God love them. They were nice women, but they were not attractive. They were fugly. There was not one attractive woman that was my teacher ever. The men were ugly, too. They were all ugly when I was a kid. I see these stories about these hot teachers. I'm like, wow.

I've never seen a hot teacher. I don't know what a hot teacher... I couldn't imagine having a hot teacher. What about you, Arena? Any teachers there back in the day? There was one in high school. What's up, Ms. Brooks? She was a babe. She was the hottest teacher in the school. I was not expecting that. I understand. I see these young teachers. Every teacher I had was old. I never had someone that was a young teacher. What about you, Coop? Yes. My...

5th, 6th, 7th grade, 6th or 7th grade language arts teacher. High school, man. Come on. No, that was middle school for me. Yeah, junior high school. Oh, yeah, junior high. Yeah, yeah. Miss Sinclair. There's a lot of hormones going on. A lot of hormones going on in junior high school. A lot of that. A lot of that going on. All right. You ever made the moves on her? You never...

I did buy her chocolates and a rose for Valentine's Day. No, you didn't. I did. How about that? A little flirtatious Koopa Loop. All right, what's next? What do we got? Shane Des Moines wants to know for everybody. I feel like, I don't know if we've ever asked this before. It's surprising. Coke or Pepsi?

Yeah, so I drank no water when I was a kid. My parents loved soda, so we drank soda pop, and it was usually Coke. Every once in a while, my mom would find a coupon for Pepsi, so we'd get Pepsi, but it was almost always Coke. It was cherry Coke, regular Coke. Dr. Pepper was part of that mix. What about you, Lorena? Well, as a child, my dad had a huge Pepsi collection, so it was Pepsi back in the day, but now I'm a Coke girl. All right, what about you, Coop? Yeah, Coke for sure. All right, what's next? What do we got? OGR Poppin wants to know, have you ever caught a good friend cheating on their partner, or vice versa?

No, not really that. But what happens is when guys break up, I'm like, oh, she's such a terrible woman. And then they get back together. And it sucks. What about you, Lorena? Of course. Yeah. Oh, you have? Look at you. Unbelievable. Cool. Yeah. Everywhere. I guess really everywhere. Oh, my eyes a little bit here, I guess.

How do you know that Claude won't become manipulative? This is a constant worry. And you can actually catch the model thinking, I think X is actually true, but I'm going to tell the user why.
