This is an iHeartPuckist. Guaranteed human. Oh, what is going on? Hope you're enjoying your early Friday morning. Appreciate you checking out the show.
Honestly, truly, militia, truly appreciate it. Always good interacting with you guys. You guys are awesome. Hey, there's no time like October. The World Series begins next Friday, streaming live on Fox One, the National League Champion Brewers.
They'll take on either the Rays or the Guardians live from Milwaukee next Friday for Game One, stream the World Series live on Fox One. You know, I was just thinking while reading that, this will never happen in sports, but I would love for it too. I would love for a team. Take the Dodgers, for instance, right? They're down three nothing.
It'll never happen because it's a team sport and you can't admit that you're done, that you're cooked. I would just like one player. We've had some really colorful players over the years, regardless of what sport they play. You know, like, I think of Dennis Rodman back in the day or, you know, someone that's just, you know, a different, different cat. I would love for one of those guys when they're asked the question of like, you know, do you think that you can get back in the series and win this thing, get to the World Series?
It's always the same. Oh, yeah. Oh, nothing but nothing but belief. In this crew, we've done it before. We're more than capable of doing it again.
I would love for someone to just be like, like, Jim Moore, remember the playoffs, right? Play-offs. Like, I just want to hear one guy at one point just be like, are you kidding me right now? Win the series, win four straight against against this? It's our third rodeo.
We're trying to get to a third straight world series. We are done. We're more than cooked at this point. I would love to hear that, but it'll never happen. Maybe it's just me being goofy.
I don't know. But I would love to get just complete honesty. But look, man, the truth about sports is you have to lie to yourself a lot of times. There are times where you, you know, step on the field and you know that you're not as good as your opponent and you know that your chances are not very good to win. You can't afford to think like that.
You have to convince yourself that, oh, it's happening. I know we've lost 15 in a row, but we're due. It's happening tonight. So it'll never happen, but I would love for it too. I'll tell you what, I'll tell you something that's realistic, that should happen, that very rarely does.
I would love for someone that's cheated. We just saw this Montez Sweat with the Bears. I know no one cares about NFL players using PEDs for whatever reason. Kind of gives you an edge. Kind of important, you know, healing faster, bigger, faster, stronger, kind of an important thing, kind of big advantage in the NFL.
You don't care for whatever is the dumbest thing ever, but I would love for a player to just admit it, just be like, yeah, I cheated. I was dumb. I cut corners. I'm not going to lie to you. I totally cheated.
I would love to hear that. And if there's ever a sport, it's football, it's a league. It's the NFL for someone to say exactly that, even a big name. And there would be a collective shrugging of the shoulders just like, yeah, well, at least it came clean, right? Like they would have blotted him for doing something like that.
Really wouldn't work that same way in baseball. They'd still, you know, crush him. But in football, there was one no name defensive lineman for the Jets years ago. I can't think of his name off the top of my head, but he did exactly that. He just owned it.
I'm paraphrasing, but he was just like, yeah, I cheated. It was dumb. I'm sorry, but yeah, I did. And that was it. I would love for a big name, whatever Lance Armstrong said that or Ryan Braun or any of these liars, Raffiall, Paul Merrow.
I'd love for someone just to be like, yeah, I was dumb. I cheated. Sorry. My bad. But that rarely happens to all right.
Eight, seven, seven, ninety nine on Fox, your number of militia. Feel free to get on in here. We'll have Coops. Coming up in about, I'll call it 30 minutes, about half an hour from now. Very much looking forward to that.
It's an extensive list. A lot of stuff going on over here, right? We got movies. We got a series. We've got four movies coming out this weekend that are of interest for of interest.
Okay. Excited for this. I did mention one thing here at the end of last hour. This is the dumbest mistake you can make in the NFL. Do you know what the dumbest mistake you can make in the NFL is?
I'll tell you what it is. You might have a guess. Think of it. What is it? Is it Jaden Daniels just running out the clock instead of getting a game winning field goal attempt?
That is pretty dumb. There's something way dumber than that. The dumbest thing you can do, the dumbest mistake you can make in the NFL is paying a mediocre quarterback big money. That's the dumbest mistake you can make. And I want to see if the Denver Broncos are dumb enough to make the biggest mistake in the NFL because if they pay this train wreck known as BONIX big money, say bye bye to being relevant on any level.
BONIX is not a reason why the Broncos are winning games. The Broncos are winning games in spite of BONIX. BONIX threw for 107 yards on Thursday night football. He threw for like 130 yards a week before. Right around there was like 132.
Maybe it was 123. He might not have even gotten to. He might not have even gotten to one. Let me verify just to make sure here. Let's see.
Oh, what was it? Bo Chapman. Nick's is that a coup? He's Chapman. Okay.
BONIX. Yeah. 123 against the Chargers. 107. Here's a big money.
It's what I hear all the time is. We just win. He wins and that's true. But there oftentimes winning in spite of him. You can't pay a guy who's mediocre big money.
Trust me. I know this as a Dolphins fan. Two Went Tunga by Loa is the definition of mediocre. Think about this for a second. The Dolphins in the 2023 season.
You know, it doesn't seem that long ago. We're in the 2026 season. This is like three years ago. The Dolphins beat the Broncos 70 to 20. They beat them by 50 points. They scored 70 points 70 points against the Broncos. Look at where those two teams are now
Dolphins went from scoring 70 points and to a leading the league in passing yards one season. They're a grease fire They completely dismantled that team. They paid to it. It just go away and they're bottoming out They're stripping it down to the studs and rebuilding through the draft. They're going young right? That's what they're doing
That team was where the Broncos are right now. That's a legitimate commit Broncos probably a little bit ahead. They're probably a little bit ahead They were just in the AFC Championship game, so they're ahead at this stage, but comparable look at the Dolphins now That's what happens when you pay a mediocre quarterback big money Bit bonix again the Broncos are winning in spite of his play Imagine if they have to start cutting corners when two was on a rookie deal and there are other comparisons to make It's not just a two-a thing You could come up with a lot of quarterbacks that had success when they're on their rookie contracts and then they got paid And they weren't close to being worth that money and the team bottoms out But I'll just use to it because he's a recent example When they paid to a well before they paid to us back up for a second. He's on a rookie deal like they're going out and getting dudes It's like we already have Jalen waddle. Let's go out and get Tyree kill. Let's get a pass rush. Let's get a secondary guy
Let's get a corner. Let's pay this guy. Let's play that guy. There's paying all these dudes Now all of a sudden they pay to a and they're just getting rid of dudes That's what happens you have to cut corners with the rest of the roster and toa isn't good enough to compensate for those deficiencies That's what it is with bonix. Yeah, but I think they're they're a lot more ahead of where they were in that situation with toa First of all because they didn't extend toa until after his his fifth year right they they They did the fifth year option on his rookie deal and then they signed him to the extension. This is only bonix's third year
So you have some time before you decide whether or not you're gonna sign him to to a deal I'll tell you right now. They should decide immediately. No, they should not decide immediately That's that's insane to me You can't when you were on the quarterback care itself for a decade losing games And then you have a player come in and you make it to the AFC Championship in his second year on a rookie deal On a rookie deal goop. Yes, and he's still gonna be on that rookie deal for another couple years Well, that's fine I mean you can keep on keep as long as you can prolong it and kick the can down the road and keep him as cheap as possible I have no issue with sure But what if he what if he balls out next year?
Cool what if I do a lee-pa breaks up with her husband and we bump into each other at LAX This is why you're you're like, you know dismissiveness is unwarranted because watching the games this season It's not the same player as previously He's he's not he's not showing any of what he's shown and he was he was good last year. He was Actually making plays. He wasn't scared He was he was using his legs to make plays and he's coming off a broken ankle in January So is it not plausible to say that maybe he's not a hundred percent He's not playing his best because he's hesitant and and not Confident in the pocket and not even confident to run the ball. You saw it today He like he ran out of bounds. There was there was when he was in the red zone There was a play where it was like a bootleg for him to go across and he could have maybe like ran to the corner to score there And he didn't he just kind of like went out of bounds and I see a different player out there Let's see once he starts getting more games he gets more healthy
Further away from that ankle injury if he starts playing more like he was at the end of last year It's a lot of ifs right there coop. There's a lot I counted 97 ifs in your little soliloquy, right? Okay, 47 But who's counting right like you know somewhere around it's just look man There's a lot that you're hoping for that isn't realistic to beat listen to be worth a big contract extension And that's a thing he's not gonna settle for this minuscule contract extension the going rate is big money for any starting quarterback BONX started all 17 games each of his first two seasons, right? He started all the game so far this season So he plays right he's upright except for the AFC title game Unfortunately got hurt the game before against the bills and that sucks But he's been very durable throughout his NFL career It's not as if this is a like a JJ McCarthy type thing where he played only 10 games this rookie season This real small sample size you've got almost you've got 40 starts of bonix in the NFL That's a lot and he's been and he's and he has set NFL records
Okay, cool like what for comeback wins and because they stink immediately out of the gate first quarterback record 20 or more wins 7500 more passing arts and 50 more passing touchdowns in the first two seasons. Okay, but that's mostly centered on wins It's got 7500 more passing arts and 50 more passing touchdowns included in that those that sort that's centered on wins a lot of that is just scheming up dudes This is not bonix dropping back and being surgical. These are easy reads. There's nothing that he's doing that special Nothing zero and now that you're seeing this version of bonix. It's even more alarming So I'll be as fair as possible. You don't have to make a decision today and kick him to the curb right now
You still have time. He's still on his rookie deal. Yes, of course You don't have to make a move right now, but the closer you get to amen It's either give him a huge payday or move on and moving on is scary because the Broncos have been awful at the quarterback position for a long Long time I used to do filling stuff in Denver and there was one year they had this whole promotion Are you team Trevor or are you team Paxton? I was like I'm team neither and they're like no you got to choose one of the guys This is the whole thing. I'm like gosh man like but that's just a show where it's been. It's really scary
Look at the dolphins the dolphins had no one forever It's like Jay Fiedler was a dude compared to a lot of the other guys they had and he wasn't a dude He just seemed more dudely because they had a bunch of hacks that dudes like Cleo Lemon It's been awful forever since Marino and then toa comes along and he leads the league in passing yards It's like well, it's back up the brink struck for toa and it's like that's the dumbest thing you can do He's not worth the money and neither is bonix. He's not gonna be worth it You can give it time you can give it this year the next year sure We'll see what happens but if you if you ask me right now would I rather Get on heart meds and and grit my teeth and watch bonix do this every week or would I rather go back to the days of Paxton Lynch and Brock Osweiler and and you know this guy and that guy I'd rather do what we're doing now dude This is the thing I want you to know all right and trust me. I know this from experience. I've learned the hard way I know you don't want to go back to Paxton Lynch and Trevor Simian. I get it But paying a mediocre quarterback big money is even worse. It's even worse
You're giving a dude that can't compensate for a weaker roster in areas huge money You are absolutely putting yourself behind the eight ball and screwing your future. You're totally screwing yourself You're better off kicking him to the curb and going in a different direction And I know that's incredibly scary to do but that's the path you gotta take you have to take that path And there are so many teams that don't they they extend a guy who's not worth it out of fear and it blows up in their face It doesn't work out. They end up paying most of it. Look at Kyler Murray Kyler Murray's making like a million dollars from the Vikings There's a cardinals are paying the rest of that. They're just let them go right like so yeah It's it's not gonna work out with both. We've had a little bit of sound from Ryan Fitzpatrick Ryan Fitzpatrick on prime video
He went in on Bo Nix now mind you this is after a Broncos win right Broncos won the game But Bo Nix only throwing for 107 yards. Yeah situational unawareness I guess the thing coop maybe he is a little bit banged up right now And that's having an impact on his play when there's a little more than a minute to go and you can just slide and keep the clock running Force the Seahawks to use their final time out. No, he just throws a stupid incomplete pass Like what are you doing? I don't care if you're banged up or not. Where's the situational awareness?
Here's Ryan Fitzpatrick after the Broncos win on Thursday night football on prime video Bo Nix is not playing competitively. It's almost disrespectful to the quarterback position how he's playing football. What do you mean? What do you mean? What do you mean?
You see what how is he playing? I mean first of all the guy doesn't want to throw the ball That's fine. He's throwing to the flats. He's throwing behind But he has no trust for him his coach because a screenplay on third night Just run up and let the clock keep going. What's he doing? He throws it away
Seattle gets the ball they have a time out and then in overtime He's got two chances to be competitive the last one to be a designed run for him to run make somebody miss and get a first down For your football team now. They're in the locker room now. They're excited they won He's not playing competitive football right now. You are playing competitive football right now I love your passion about this because if you're this fired up and you're not on this team or you're not when you're fans I can only imagine how they feel. I can only imagine how Sean Payton feels. I mean Sean Payton Davis web everybody that blocks for him
He's not competing right now. That's something that he's hung his hat on for the last two years I don't know if he's still injured. I don't know what's going on, but it's not good enough. Yeah, it's ever Wow. There he is There's Fitzpatrick crush and bonix and he went on later on in that whole post game show He was saying that it's I'm paraphrasing But along the lines he was like it's a it's an honor to play to be a starting quarterback in the NFL and Bonix is taking that for granted is what he was saying So whether you grew with that or not, but that's that's Fitzpatrick and you can't knock Fitzpatrick in turn You can knock his numbers and you know turning the ball over there plenty of things you can knock on his game But you can't knock his just competitiveness and so when he's talking about bonix's lack of competitiveness he can absolutely speak on that and That's what you're seeing right now. It's just a bad product
Gotta be way better. We're talking extension This is like a bad girlfriend talking about marriage, right? Like she's just a disaster She's doing all these things wrong and she's like where's the ring? It's like where's the ring nowhere is where the ring is at right like Bonix they get a huge contract extension plane like this. No, dude. You gotta step your game way up
I don't care what the quarterback care cell has been like before him. It's not worth it, man It is not worth it to pay a guy who can't produce on the level he's getting paid at it's never gonna work out It never has for any team You gotta cut corners and you can't have a guy that's you know being brought along by the rest of the team when the rest of the Team is weaker because he's making more than he should it's just simple math man It's a math game hard salary cap gotta make our decisions and you can't pay mediocre dues big money That's the bottom line. All right, we got coops goops Coming up pretty soon here and just about 15 minutes. We'll get to that very much looking forward to that 8 7 99 on Fox is your number I see a member of the militia once the check and we'll get to him right around the corner always let people call in in I love Being interactive. I love it. I live for it
Also at the no show on X is where you can tweet me. I'm gonna peruse them here in just a second What else do we have to do right here? I love the Broncos chance in the background Fitzpatrick just crushing bonix. It's a bunch of Broncos Broncos This fired up happiest can be very funny. We'll get back to a horrible horrible change Right around the corner someone wants to weigh in on that so we will do that. I'm Brian

I like this. Let's see DJ Deliham. Okay. Let's get at DJ Deliham deliham my bed on uh in Kansas. What's going on DJ? What's up?
Hey, what's up you guys good morning to you guys? I just want to say thank you guys for real non-piable Let me just say a couple quick quick three things once it's not the Las Vegas Raiders It's just the Oakland Raiders. I'm from Oakland, uh, no one's uh, um, gak tatum and all the rest of the guys But anyway just real quick to college football. What in the world are doing? Why are they doing this is like look stick it the way it's supposed to be and that's it. That's all 2014's are they sick? They must be three more now, uh,
Uh, when mama or when mama wherever his name is Can he take his happy hips and learn the hook shot from korean i do the ball divorce like 12 foot 9 feet tall? Whatever can you please learn the hook shot. He's good and she gets you the ball from outside the lane Take him down there cook Korean hook shot. Never been blocked since i've been watching since i was a kid I'm 64 years old. So if you can take his hips down there and learn the hook shot He'd be awesome. He will have a roundabout gang. I'll find you to say all right. Appreciate it. DJ. Yeah, you don't listen
I put it this way. I hear you. Um, if he developed a korean hook shot easier said than done I just think when being in today's game. He's better suited shooting threes, you know, um, i'm not saying just don't live out there But he's gonna be better Fine tuning that then trying to develop a korean hook shot in my opinion. He's not gonna be a back to the basket, you know A keem the dream patrick you wing he's not gonna be that he's too slight to do things like that And i gotta back guys down i get the point hook shot. Yeah in a perfect world
But look man, I don't think that's that's probably gonna happen you could say that all day You could say like if um, hey if Dwight how we're just developed a move It's like well, that's not what Dwight how it does. He's limited Uh, but wenby's a freak man. When he's the alien i think he'd be better just you know fine tuning his shooting and uh being more deadly that way Than developing developing a brand new shot, but listen i get it. I was thinking one more koreys in vegas talking college ball What's going on korey? Yeah, this 2014 playoff format is garbage man. What do you think about this or anything else?
Oh, I think so, but let me say uh, thanks for being on tonight, brian I have to do it down and back to take my daughter back to school today to la may to drive much more pleasurable format appreciate it Very cool man. Yeah, thank you for that. Yeah, now this 2014 playoff, you know, I originally, you know was not keen on 12 If we went for four to 12, I thought eight was the right number If we've really realistically only had a handful of team that would shoot him at lee every year to win a title 24 is way too much it's trash truck to fight trash truck juice Yeah, yeah, and look at that. Yeah, I hear you and appreciate you appreciate the call It's uh, it's one of these deals where I just think back to last year's playoff And it doesn't mean it's gonna play out the same way every single year I get that but Think about a couple of the g6 schools that just got roasted remember james mattison got crushed by or again It's not even competitive. It's like, okay, so he realistically think a g6 team is gonna do damage No, it's not gonna happen too lane got killed And then that's not just g6 like some of the lower power four schools
To have a run in a 24 team playoff to win a championship It's not realistic at all. So this is just dumb. This is all this is doing is wrecking the regular season That's it It's wrecking the regular season for you know, double the playoff field when you know the doubling of that playoff field is just prolonging the playoffs And those teams that sneak in aren't capable of winning a championship. Anyway, it's totally dumb And that's me as a Notre Dame die hard football team who had to watch, you know, my irish get bubbled You know when you play in a poker tournament and you're the bubble boy You're the first person that didn't cash Sorry, sorry, you're the last person like right before the the payout, right?
You don't get anything that was Notre Dame last season and it sucked But I would much rather have only 12 teams in the playoff and my irish get their hearts ripped out and have an exclusive field more so than doubling it and going to 24 It's just terrible man. You shouldn't lose three games and be easily in the playoff It just shouldn't be a thing in college football. Unfortunately it is. Oh, we got coops goops And first we got Marcel with the tremendous introduction that he does does fantastic job. What's going on here? Marcel
All birthday eve for tomorrow and I'm gonna be turning from 32 to 33 years. Oh, wow Happy birthday in advance here, Marcel. Yes, it's it's a bunch of stuff So I'm gonna I'm gonna try and go up, you know extra extra quick here Uh, we start off in the theaters like we always do here on koop's koop on entertainment and I didn't know that never a series. Huh always a movie. No, we start off in the theaters Uh, and this we got we got four movies that I that I want to point out first. We're gonna start off with street fighter Yes, the the video game another video game turn movie Uh, a lot of big street fighter fans out there and as you would expect the critics think this is kind of meh But the fans love it and you know, that's kind of it's kind of all that matters when it comes to these type of movies So, um just uh some big names that are in this movie. You've got Jason mimoa. You've got 50 cent
Oh, okay. Our guy Curtis. That's right. All right. Uh, you got roman reigns of uh, you know, ww fame Can you tell roman reigns and mimoa apart? Yes, easily
Yeah, what if they dress the same? I think I would be able just because I know Jason mimoa so well I don't know roman reigns that well because I he was he was after my time watching wwe Yeah, but uh out of the game. Yeah, basically, uh, this is uh, this is uh, this is uh, this is uh, We got for you a strange street fighters rewind ken masters get thrown back in combat when the mysterious chun Lee recruits them From the next world warrior tournament a brutal class of fists fate and fury Sounds intense and a ridiculous popcorn bucket to go with that's right. That's right the hat popcorn bucket the hair The hair the hair of the characters. I like it. You can wear it. All right. Where the popcorn
It's ridiculous. Uh also out this weekend in theaters right now is whale fall I'm so bad. Yes. I'm excited about this one Uh, it does look great and you know what the critics the critics are liking it as well. Really?
Yeah, so far it's got a 70 percent on rotten tomatoes. Oh my gosh, uh, following the death of his father jay gardener Dives off california central coast and search of his remains only to be swallowed by a massive sperm whale Trapped inside with one hour of oxygen jay must draw on the lessons his father taught him to escape This is a whole you know hour and forty six minute movie From the inside of a whale how do they do it? I don't know but i'm gonna find out you know what this reminds me of coop It sort of reminds me if you told me the plot of the movie fall remember they climb that he is I like that movie if you just told me the plot i'd be like that sounds so dumb. It was actually pretty good, right? Like it's sweaty palms the whole thing is maybe this movie will be like that but it sounds dumb as hell This this one stars austin abrams in the the main role josh borlin I'm assuming as the father. There's gotta be like flashbacks. Obviously that's gotta be right. That's gotta be the time
And uh and elizabeth shoe as well Uh moving on to the next thing I'm gonna make this one real quick. I just everything down that I like to point out like a movie that you know, you know You know those listening can bring their wives to you know, uh, yeah sense and sensibility. It's the jane austin, uh, yeah You know make make a happy wife happy life, right? Wow Like critics like it, you know significant other probably will as well so check that out That's in theaters this weekend and then last but not least in theaters. We've got you can see everything now This one's another one i'm really excited about uh, this is the i guess it's a documentary i guess so Uh, so it's about elizabeth homes the uh silicon valley founder who was like fraud and went to jail Apparently this is just a bizarre movie So 34 days before she sent to prison at toria silicon valley founder elizabeth homes invites a skeptical film crew to document her every move What begins as an intimate portrait of an enigmatic felon becomes a mind-blowing bending three-year journey into the abyss That's what the synopsis says and so far. This has got a hundred percent on rotten tomatoes from the critics
Nothing gets a hundred percent and ninety nine percent from audiences Oh my god, yes, this one this is the movie to see this weekend. This is what everybody's talking about They need me to see this movie and i can point something that's wrong with it, you know, i can do that Well, we'll see we'll see all right, uh moving on to television i've got a lot here too So the first thing i mentioned this one i believe came out last week i missed it on last week's coop scoop on entertainment Uh, but i did start watching it myself netflix has a new documentary on my tyson. I'm walter ijason host of the new podcast the builders right now I'm living through an ai arms race So I went directly to the people shaping that future Elon Musk dareio hominé Alex car fave a leap armor lucky because I wanted to understand what the most consequential builders believe What they feel and where they think this is all headed Silicon valley is always saying the cliche thing about the way to predict the future is to create it
Well, yeah, it's up to us But when you say us who's us is it 400 people that you know in silicon valley is it me down here in new orleans They're brilliant controversial and they're already shaping the future The question is who's imagination do we want to live in? I'm probably no info big Ben mallor This football season is heating up and every week feels bigger with draft kings draft kings is now live in all 50 states one app All the football nationwide right now use the promo code mallor to claim your special offer at draft kings again That's promo code mallor at draft kings the crown is yours Yeah, so kalabillium's bears quarterback is a little testy With the media for reporting that he uh, you know He was weak to weak with his hamstring injury and that's fine But the bears basically put that out too So, I don't know why he isn't mad at his own team
Right like the bears could have done him a big favor and just put it out there like yeah hamstring injury He's gonna be out for three to four games, but afterward it was like he might not miss a game And so the bears are partially responsible for that. So I don't know why he would be just heated at the media Uh, got a tweet here from baltimore of media free food. I like this and he says We need more travel stories worse cities best cities best and worse stadiums free food, etc It beats thursday night football talk what he was doing fine until that last part. That's that's why i differ But um, I'll tell you one thing that's relevant right now. I did a mini baseball tour this summer I went to 10 different stadiums. So I only have four more to cross off the list and I've been everywhere in uh, mlb
Very nice. Thank you. I appreciate that. Yeah, so we're getting there scratching it off the list there coupe But the most underrated stadium in all of major league baseball I never would have believed this until I saw it for myself. It's tampa It's the tampa bay race. I always thought that place was a dump
No one goes because the stadium sucks. I went it was awesome. It was actually really cool It was different. It was almost like an airport You know like when you go from shop to shop to shop at airports like a nicer airport That's what it felt like the concourse when you walk around the stadium it feels like that They put a lot of bells and whistles. They do this stuff with lights with a dome up top and they do a really good job with the music The presentation. I thought it was great. I thought it was awesome. What's been the best though
Uh, I don't know I don't know all of them the absolute best. I love the Mets I love the city field. I went there years ago for a yankees Mets game. Have you done Fenway? Yeah, a benefenway. It was cool. I mean, it's like lamp like lambo, you know, it's like
Historic you gotta go. Um, I would put uh, yeah, I put tamp behind the list though. This is an iHeart podcast guaranteed human
