House Minority Phil Lopes and the FY2009 Arizona State Budget

After 166 days (six full months), the Arizona Legislature finally passed a FY2009 budget with less than a week to spare before the start of the budget year on July 1, 2008. In this program, we speak with Democratic House Minority Leader Phil Lopes (LD-27, Tucson), who gives us his take on why it took so long, what the good and bad parts of the budget were, and what opportunities were missed.
