House of X Book Club Episode 28 - The Pod of the Banshee!

It's the end of the X-Men as we know it, and I feel fine! Welcome back to you our bookish friends! We are diving into some of the last third of the original X-Men shenanigans! First up we take a look at X-Men 46. We are dealing with the aftermath of the death of a major character, and the Juggernaut shows up to whoop some candy asses! Back in the sixties you could buy candy asses at the soda fountain along with Coca-Cola with actual cocaine in it. Just kidding! They took the coke out of Coke in the thirties! The backup in this issues wraps up the origin of everyone's pal Iceman!   Next is X-Men 47, featuring the bodacious Beast and the incredible Iceman! They team up to fight a villain we thought (hoped) we would never see again! Bobby and Hank take Vera and Zelda out for a double date (ACTUALLY, Vera and Zelda take out Bobby and Hank) and that's where all the trouble starts! Hypotism, Superman style shenanigans, and some old fashioned trickery give us this team up tale! And in the backup, we meet the Beast again for the first time!
