We can't claim to ignore the horrible things around us. It's easy to justify how we treat others because of something that they did or we perceived they did to us. Grace calls us to defy logic and calls us to care, not when it directly impacts us, not when we're threatened and not because someone does something to benefit, or even agree with, us. This message is NOT fragile. It has the breadth to cover all relationships as well as the specificity to change individual hearts. We're not dealing with an unpredictable god and our perception of god's character is too easily manipulated. That's a tale that has been around as long as religion has been in place.
