Oh, really, it's great. Welcome to another episode of Truth to Power. This is the annual housekeeping episode. I think this is housekeeping for, by, for giving me for being a robot or being on a robot, basically, but my schedule, now they just doesn't commit me to recording like I would like to, and comfort them all home and just not free of outside noise and things like that.
So forgive me for that. But housekeeping. Housekeeping, have you ever had anywhere housekeeping episode? Going into the New Years.
And basically, what that is, is that I review the year of the previous year, which is going to be 2024. And I talk about all the things and the people that I love behind and how I'm moving forward in life. One particular thing, a person that I love behind, you know the person I started 2024 with, isn't the person that I'm going to end 2024 with. That's one thing.
And the lesson I learned from that was that I was standing on business all 2025. If y'all never seen me standing on business before, 2025 is going to be that year. And I know a lot of people say, man, I'm telling 2025 won't be that year. Like if I haven't made enough enemies already, 2025.
Like I told somebody on Instagram, and I'm getting to Instagram in a moment, I say, if y'all thought knowing me in 2024 was hard, in 2025, buckle up, buckle up, cause I'm going hard after everything. And there are some things from 2022. And for those that know y'all know, that I have not cleaned up yet, that's going to get cleaned up completely in 2025. It's something you know, I am a Muslim face, a hum to a lot.
God works in very mysterious ways, very mysterious ways. So when I say something in 2025, regardless of who or what no exceptions to the rule, I know that I am willing to walk away from any situation that does not serve my purpose. In the words of Dr. Khalil Muhammad, peace is always the first answer, but war is necessary.
I want to choose peace, but if it's necessary, I am prepared to go to war. So in 2025, what does that mean? That means that if anything or anybody is standing in a real mind goal, may God be with you. May he be with you?
Now, back to Instagram. I received a message this morning from a woman that I highly respect, that I have a bit of admiration for, and I posted a post from Facebook from somebody else that I have a lot of respect for, in the sense that this guy really helped me get my life together from a microphone. He really helped me out in a lot of different ways when I was going through it in 2019 and 2020. You know, and because of him, I'm on the right path, just listening to him and following his steps in his room, which he's Jason Black, but I know that is.
But I posted a post of his, she hit me in my inbox and she said, Taris, are you posting these posts out of love or hate because it seems as if you're a Black woman bashing? I didn't get emotional about it to the point where it was like I was mad. However, I got a sense of, excuse me, of I was just somewhat offended that their question would even interest somebody's mind that I would ever be against Black women, just knowing my actions and my words that I speak for my community. However, the post was referencing his Christmas dinner with her husband's family.
And it just looked crazy, and it was. And a lot of people talking about it on the internet and things like that. One of the first questions she asked me was, what is she supposed to stay around and wait for a good Black man? And I'm like, I'm not sure what you mean about a good Black man or, you know, what that means, but I'm pretty sure that she was around in the atmosphere and being in that type of industry against capable Black men or just capable Black men as her husband.
It's her now husband. And it's very interesting because just a mindset of people nowadays, and just in my opinion, it's just very warm in mind, this is somebody that I respect and I still respect, I still have admiration for her, okay? I would never disrespect her in any type of way. But in this particular case, she was just dead wrong.
And my opinion, she was just particularly just dead wrong and just even assuming that I had some type of hatred for Black women. And I had to remind her of who I was. I really did, especially, and you know how to do that a lot of times, but it seems Black women are sensitive to any type of criticism or any type of somebody saying, hey, listen, what are you doing? Like, that's what you're doing?
That doesn't make sense. And I had to remind her, listen, the guy that she's married to historically, her race, that race has treated her race very violently in the past. What are you talking about? And people say, oh, that's the past.
It's still going on today, historically. And just that whole picture of her at the dinner, that was just very crazy, worthy. It was, it's just like, oh my God, like, oh, it just looked all the way wrong. But however, I digress from next.
But I want y'all to know, listen, Tyra says that, a Black woman, bad sure. I love Black women. I have a lot of songs dedicated to Black women. I give honor and respect to my grandmother, who's a Black woman, a foundational Black woman.
My mother as well, the women that have been in my life, they will tell you, yes, he has an respect for us. And they've all been Black, by the way. Now, moving along. We had 2024.
I'm not going to say that it was without obstacles. I'm not going to say that it was without challenges. But I will say that I meant those challenges hit on. I dealt with them accordingly.
And yeah, I was a little damaged at one point in time. I will say that I was a little damaged at one point in time from a spiritual standpoint. Like I was kind of, you know, lumping away and just like, not really being myself. Like I hear like a, it's almost like I hear like a plateau, just a certain degree.
And I kept doing the same things over and over and over again. You know, if you stay stagnant, then you decline again, and decline. And I didn't want to stay stagnant. And I just kept on pushing and pushing, but like I kept on pulling, right?
But I kept on pushing. And I utilized every option that was available to me. And then I started thinking that these options were, but took what were available to me years ago, I just didn't take advantage of them. But now I'm starting to realize my inner guide, my inner power, my inner will, my inner persistence and how to project that outwardly and externally.
And I just leave that internally with them myself. Oh, so, oh, so may I say, listen, you know, I'm never really saying what exactly I do on these platforms. But for those of you who I am, I'm not going to help therapists, right? I am a therapist.
But I'm also a filmmaker, I'm also a podcast though. Also a poet, I'm also an author. I have a lot of hats that I wear. I'm also a businessman, all businesses and things like that.
So I have a lot of hats that I wear. But I want to say that, and I hope that somebody can hear this message and it can inspire you to keep moving forward. I want to say this, things are not as hard as they look. As they matter of fact, things are easier than they look if you just act upon them.
And what I mean by that is, let's just say you got this seemingly hard obstacle in front of you to elevating your career, right? The only thing that is stopping you is your pride in your ego from asking questions or how to better further yourself. And I had to let people know that I killed my ego a long time ago, and gone and they. And once you do that, anything is possible because you're not afraid of asking questions.
You're not afraid of being wrong because you're willing to do research, you're willing to ask questions, you're willing to be around people that are better than you so they can help you get better. And I've done that all since, this very year. If you have the instructions, if you have the insight, if you have the knowledge and ability and the will to apply the knowledge and ability to whatever you want, anything is possible at that point of time for you. Whatever you want, you will achieve.
You will achieve it. Now as we close out 2024, I just want to say, thank you for listening to me. Thank you for supporting me. Thank you for being with me for the time that you have been with me.
I really do appreciate it. I really do. It has been a journey from that first pie care that I did. In what, 2019?
But that 2019, well that 2018. That first pie care that I did in 2019, I want to say, it has been a journey. It has been a journey. Everybody got a team of the journey.
I think we had over 200 episodes at this point in time. It has been one hell of a journey, everybody. And we're going to continue the journey. It's a 2025.
I promise to be around a lot more, or it's something to be, as much as I can, I've got to promise me. But you know, I'm working on different things. I'm working on different projects. And I may be more present on the pie care, it's more because it might be on social media, much less after March 15.
The significance of that is March 15 is the Poetic Symphony. We're going to have that the I Shave powerhouse in New Orleans at 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. As a matter of fact, man, we're going to rock out and have a good time.
It's going to literally be a movie, literally going to be a movie. So you know, by your take me, baby, Vampirite.com, I just spoke truth to power, happy new year, and have a good day.
