This is the third episode relating to housing and how housing issues affect us as social workers. Housing advocate Shams Da Baron, best known as Da Homeless Hero. Shams shares his personal story of his life long struggles of homelessness. Da Baron shares being in the NYC shelter system, being a victim of political red tape with relates to housing. From living in SRO's to family shelters, this episode looks at housing struggles from a clients' perspective. As a result of his life long struggles of homelessness, he has become a strong advocate to change housing policy under current New York City Mayor Eric Adams.
