How a Man With a Rebuilt Body Gained 50 Yards at 69

from Fairway Performance Podcast

"I'm too old. I've had too many surgeries. My body is just done."These are the most expensive sentences in golf, because the moment you believe them, you stop trying, and then they come true. This episode is for the golfer who has quietly decided their best golf is behind them. In it I make the case that your history is information, not a prison sentence. It tells me where to be smart and where to build, not whether you can improve. The body adapts at every age. It gets a little slower at 70 than at 30, but it never stops. Then I tell you about Dan. When Dan came to us he had two hip replacements, a knee replacement, a spinal fusion in his lower back, and a triple bypass. If anyone on earth had a reason to say he was too broken for this, it was him. His driver was going about 180 yards, and he was starting to wonder if it was even worth continuing. So we did what we always do. We did not guess, we assessed. We found out exactly what his body could and could not do, respected every one of those surgeries, and built the plan in order: foundations first, then strength, then speed and power. Five to six months later Dan was hitting his driver 220 to 230 yards. That is a 40 to 50 yard gain from a man with two new hips, a new knee, a fused spine, and a rebuilt heart. Not from a new club, but from a body that could finally do the job.If Dan can add 40 to 50 yards, the story you are telling yourself about being too old or too broken probably does not hold up. Drop "I'm too old" and "I'm too broken" from your vocabulary. They are not assessments, they are assumptions. The only way to know what your body can do is to test it and build from there.Want to find out what is actually possible for you?
