HOW ABRAHAM BECAME A KING, Chapter 5 of Kingdom of God volume 2.    Pages 31-41 http://ogdenkraut.com/?page_id=139 Abraham received all things, whatsoever he received, by revelation and commandment, by my word, saith the Lord. (D & C 132:29) Father Abraham was the right person in the right place at the right time. He stood as a father of nations, and also as a father to nations. Abraham is one of the most perfect examples of a man of God, and we have been instructed to “Go ye, therefore, and do the works of Abraham.” (D & C 132:32) He stood for correct principles and faithfulness to the laws of God. He was so righteous that the Lord appeared to him from time to time and talked to him as one man talks to another.  Abraham received all things, whatsoever he received, by revelation and commandment, by my word, saith the Lord, and hath entered into his exaltation and sitteth upon his throne. (D & C 132:29)  In this 132nd section of the Doctrine and Covenants, the Lord mentions the name of Abraham 20 times. It is no wonder that he is often cited as “Abraham, the Friend of God.”
