In the final part of our three-part series on AI, we turn to a strange source: the enigmatic philosopher and social critic Paul Kingsnorth. Kingsnorth is a controversial figure, known as much for his critiques of capitalism as his hatred for leftist ideology. But he's also an important voice in a world increasingly spiralling down the drainpipe of "progress". In his latest book, he uses the idea of "the Machine" to paint a picture of the dark future we're falling headlong into. Unlike AI 2027, Kingsnorth's work is far more subjective and spiritual.
