It's just the latest example of a culture where the leaders have convinced employees, they need to be taking risks and trying new things. And they got thinking about how important it is for us to be creating that kind of culture on our teams in this age of disruption, where we've, we've got to be doing things differently than we used to do them, right. That's why I wanted Steve Anderson on the show. This is the class your business school didn't offer. It's the training your employer still has been provided? How do leaders like us get people to do what we need them to do? So we can grow our results and live the life we desire? That's the question, right? This podcast contains the answers. But what Jeff Bezos, and the esteem and the leadership team at Amazon have done over the last few decades is, it's remarkable. And so I'm excited to tap into the expertise of our guest today. Steve Anderson, welcome to the show.Steve Anderson  1:36  Russ, thank you for having me. It's great to be here. So mostRuss Hill  1:40  letters to shareholders from the CEO, I have to start with isSteve Anderson  1:45  going with it.Russ Hill  1:47  You heard this I'm sure most letters from CEOs to shareholders are boring, you haven't you don't want to run from those things. You decided to write a book about the letters from a CEO to his his shareholders, why?Steve Anderson  2:02  Bezos is not just any CEO, I think first, second is writing. And really what I call story or narrative is such a key part of Bezos and Amazon and kind of how it's grown and all of that. And literally, I was researching the impact technology is having on businesses and came up with this idea that the biggest risk they face is actually not taking enough risk.
