How Are You Prioritising Tomorrow?

What are you doing tomorrow? How did you decide? Pebbles In A Bowl is a great way of re-looking at how you decide to invest your time. Think of a bow... fill it with large pebbles. It's not full because you can fill the spaces with small pebbles. It's not full because you can then fill the spaces with sand. It's still not full because water can fill the spaces between the sand grains, between the small pebbles, between the large pebbles. Now for the symbolism. large pebbles - health and wellbeing small pebbles - relationships sand - career and interests water - everything else So now try if in the opposite direction. Fill your bowl with water. There's no space for anything else. So cram tomorrow full of meaningless stuff and that's what your day will be. Even full of sand (which we are symbolising as career and interests) there's no room for pebbles (the important stuff). Perhaps the best way to plan tomorrow and decide what we'll be doing is to begin with health and wellbeing as a priority, fit in then tending the relationships important in our life. There will still be room after that for career and interests and even some other stuff. But begin by crowding ourselves out with 'stuff' and we'll never live the life we desire.
