How Buddhist chanting has saved Amy's leg and completely changed her life

from Bloom with a Boom! Grounded by daily practice. · host Rebecca Schlosser

Amy Jordan is an award-winning author, keynote speaker, fitness expert, choreographer and unstoppable human who has overcome life changing obstacles.   She is also a friend and spiritual mentor to me!  Amy and I met years ago through work and she introduced me to Buddhism and chanting Nam Myoho Renge Kyo, a practice rooted in overcoming obstacles and building a life of unshakable happiness.  Around this time, Amy was met with an unimaginably traumatic incident - her leg was run over by a NYC bus, which could have been fatal.  Clearly, the course of her life changed in a single instant.  Lying on the pavement and before even realizing what happened, the first thing Amy began doing was chanting Nam Myoho Renge Kyo.  Then she vowed that if she survived, she would not only walk, but create a dance victory project.  Spoiler alert - she DID walk, and she DID create a dance victory project that celebrates its 10 year anniversary with a Florida performance in a few weeks! https://www.amyjordanspeaks.com/victory-dance-project  Some might say that what followed this horrific accident is luck or a miracle, but in Buddhism we believe in the innate human ability to optimize and reverse even the suckiest of situations.  Amy had wisdom and resourcefulness to find the right doctor who would save her leg from being amputated, and the grit and determination to get through 20 surgeries, years of rehab and not only walk again, but dance; a friend mystically proposed creating a dance show, and the Victory Dance was finally born.  Amy’s arduous journey has led to a more fulfilling lifestyle and arts career than she could have imagined before the accident, proving that we all have the power to transform poison into medicine. My favorite takeaways are included at the end of this gorgeous, heart-opening and soul soothing conversation, so give it a listen! :) Ways to get in touch with Amy!
