How can I make change a way of life? | Change Ep. 165

from The Daily Disturbance · host Anthony Pangilinan

“We can't be afraid of change. You may feel very secure in the pond that you are in, but if you never venture out of it, you will never know that there is such a thing as an ocean, a sea. Holding onto something that is good for you now, may be the very reason why you don't have something better.” ― C. JoyBell C.

How to embrace change as a way of life. This is the very historical swag gas with Anthony Benjamin. I think the past year and a half stretched all our capacities for constant change, right? Not just in this country, but worldwide.

It's E.C.Q., right, enhanced community quarantine again in Metro Manila, and there are no signs of this winding down soon. Even advanced societies who are already claiming victory, right? They were on the way to recovery, they claimed. That was a trend, at least the past months, are back into lockdowns.

Wearing masks once again in a whole new set of protocols as the virus evolves, as the virus changes. And many of us are stretched, more are stressed, and certainly not a few are already distressed. We weren't really prepared for this, let's be honest with each other, right? And many have very little margin even to begin with, right, in their energy tanks when the pandemic began.

And it has suddenly taken a longer time than we had anticipated, but change we had to. Righty Bennett, it's only after you've stepped outside your comfort zone that you begin to change. Grow, entrance form. And again, Friedrich, Nike, the snake which cannot cast its kin has to die, as well as the minds which are prevented from changing their opinions, they cease to be mine.

You know this, or perhaps you've heard of it, but let me be a bit more dramatic about it. 2008, second to the last place. 2012, oh my, did not finish the NF. 2016, second from the top.

And 2021, the gold. Heide Lin, deus, on weightlifting. Four Olympic showings over a span of 13 years, and a lot of preparation even before that. Sea joy belt sea.

And I quote, we can't be afraid of change. You may feel very secure in the pond that you're in, but if you never venture out of it, you will never know that there is such a thing as an ocean, a sea. Holding onto something that is good for now, maybe the very reason why you don't have something better. It's a Friday and it's a good time to pause and reflect in a few possible applications.

Let me share three. Number one, what is the change you wish to see in the world around you and how can it start with you? Can you give that some thought? Number two, what change have you gone through that is worth celebrating this weekend?

Come on. And finally, number three, what good change in someone, perhaps in a loved one, can you help make happen? Now go for it.
